The staff is friendly and knows the area well. When you walk in the great you warmly and offer to help with luggage. They are happy to recommend local places to eat or shop for groceries. It feels like a home away from home.

The room is very spacious. One complaint is that the mattress was very hard.

Our purpose was be close to Dulles airport for a flight out the next afternoon and The River Inn was a perfect stay. The hotel was an easy walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro spot. Our room was available a bit before check-in which was delightful. We preferred not to dine out--there was a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's just a short walk away and a wonderfully equipped kitchenette that made our stay quite comfortable. The room was large with a beautiful view over the Watergate buildings. Bed was super comfortable and the bathroom just fine. Neighborhood was safe and we enjoyed walks in the afternoon and evening. The hotel was so well equipped and I was grateful for the laundry room where I chose to launder our travel shirts after the warm afternoon of walking around Georgetown so that they would be fresh for our transatlantic journey the next day. Super shout out to Sayif who welcomed us, was so personable and made us feel right at home. Nothing!

The property is outdated. Definitely not a 4-star hotel.

It was nice to have a full kitchen! We didn’t make use of it but it would be cool to note!
-
The location, the staff, the service and an Italian restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. There was NOTHING to not like. I loved, The River Inn and will definitely stay there again when I'm back in D.C.
