Baymont by Wyndham Waterloo

Well, it was absolutely horrible. A few details, the entire building smelled like marijuana, the non smoking room I was assigned smelled like stale cigarettes from years of smoking, the pool area was tiny, and I cannot believe that the breakfast offering could possibly be approved by anyone in a corporate level. There was a chair in my room that looked like it was pulled straight from a dump and placed in the corner with filthy stains all over it. Basically the place makes your skin crawl. Now, with all that the absolute worst part of the experience was dealing with the nightmare of a manager. Who became very confrontational when I asked for another room. He became so rude I drew a boundary with him and after doing that he told me I was kicked out of his hotel. Obviously I told him I was not leaving u til I received a refund. He said of course he will issue the refund and reassured me it would not be a problem. I left the hotel and when I called Expedia they informed me he denied any refund and refused. Luckily Expedia was able to force him to refund my money. But wow, think twice before staying at a Baymont hotel and I would urge any traveler to stay far away from the Baymont Hotel in Waterloo, IA!

Cons: The stay was somewhat negative after an aggressive phone call from a staff member my first day.

Found a roach my first night. The staff did not replenish the coffee in the room and the eggs for breakfast did not tast like eggs. I guess that's what you get when booking a cheaper hotel.

I appreciated a wonderful breakfast with many choices. I used their fitness room almost each of the five days we were there. The staff was kind and always available. We were happy about everything.

Room very clean. Check-in staff very friendly and accommodating. Had everything I needed. The only thing I didn't like was related to booking.com and them offering refundable reservations just shortly before the deadline for cancellations with a refund.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Exceptional

The staff was helpful when I found what looked like a blood stain on the bed sheets. They came and changed the bed sheets right away. I didnt like finding what looked like blood stains on my bed sheets and the fact that the phone didnt work in the room.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep in, and the pool was so cold it made for a terrible use.

Nice staff person. A very lovely man. Friendly and helpful.

Breakfast very good, my only complaint would be the made-from-concentrate coffee instead of brewed.

Room had musty smell. Indoor pool was cold. Breakfast was decent. High water pressure in the shower.
