Motel 6 Waterloo, IA - Crossroads Mall - Cedar Falls

Room was dirty and smelled rotten, staff was rude except the nice lady stocking towels, she was sweet. No amenities listed online, and the self advertised "free coffee" isn't a thing. Trash everywhere outside empty cases f alcohol stacked everywhere around the building

The location was perfect. It was close to everything that I needed. The pool wasn’t open and was never told to me. The room was dirty. There was blood on the toilet one side of the toilet seat wasn’t even connected dirt on the wall behind the bathroom door the door handle and the mirror to the bathroom were filthy and had food and other stuff on them. The nightstand was sitting on the floor instead of connected to the wall next to the bed and had some kind of liquid on it. The bed was rock hard. Never again. I want a refund!

Listen, we all know. Motel 6 is an aging old brand in the United States properties have wear and tear but fill grime, disgusting environments, lack of maintenance pools of gross. Who knows what trash everywhere filthy carpets everywhere broken doors everywhere that’s just management and ownership lack of caring about their business.

The hallways smelled. The room smelled. The commercials used to promise us a clean, comfortable room. This certainly wasn't clean or comfortable. The lock on the door was also broken. It was nice and handy, though, to just be able to move our things in through the window from the parking area since there was no screen on the window. Not sure that was the goal of the hotel, though.

The floor in our room was sticky and there was a q tip on the floor. The gfi didn't work so you couldn't use thr plug by the sink. Seems to be mainly people living there monthly. Someone knocked on our window in the middle pf the night so at that point we decided to check out early

There were dirty clothes left in the bathroom along with black mold in the corner of the tub. One of the 2 beds we couldn't sleep in. The sheets were firmly when we turned the sheets down. The towel by the sink had hair in it. The pool was drained and closed maintenance. I will never stay here again

The pool was closed. No microwave or coffee pot in rooms. Other that that the room was clean and staff was friendly

The room was dirty, hair in the bathroom/tub, Mattress was stained, definitely found bedbugs. What a nightmare!

Oh, and the pool is “closed for maintenance” though other guests and I agreed, “that thing hasn’t been running for a long time!” Nice enough staff.

Room dirty walls dirty

I never got a room my reservation was canceled and I am sure I was charged and shouldn't have been will be checking my account tomorrow and if it was will be calling to get a refund

Smelled horrible, dirty, pool was empty and property appears to be used for long term guests. I didn’t even stay, I’d rather drive home

I have a little white dog who can barely walk due to health conditions. The manager claimed that she was out running the halls but yet can’t really walk. I don’t know how she would get the door open! Poor management, drunk and swearing a lot. If you can afford extra money for a different hotel I would recommend it!

Certain staff members were great and they would make great managers of this hotel. The current managers really need to take responsibility and step down and resign. Andy is aJeyill and Hyde mentality personality! He is intoxicated will on the job, swears a lot and is quick to call the police on people and have them kicked out! Days that he is sober he is decent to deal with. The management is been watched throwing peoples mail away!

Great place to stay very helpful staff

When arriving the staff was rude, the room smelled like smoke and was dirty. The towels and linens were stained.

Bedding was clean. Nice to have a bathtub Upgrades needed. No plugs in sink or tub. No chairs or microwave or coffee maker. Floor nit clean. Trim in bathroom worn or not at all. Only one staff member. No one to help her when requests were made such as coffee in lobby. She did her best to help.

It was easy to find and in an area with several food and shopping options. I wasn't a fan of walking into the lobby and being immediately hit with a very strong marijuana odor. The pool was "closed for maintenance", but obviously just closed long term as it was fully drained and the deck area being used for roll away bed storage. The room was visibly dirty - a customer survey card from a previous guest was still on the counter with a comment about cat food and a fake fingernail on the bathroom floor - both of which were also still there. The TV was off the wall bracket and just sitting haphazardly on the countertop under where the bracket was hung and had either dried snot or some other similarly textured thing on the screen. We didn't test the beds for comfort because no one felt safe to sit down, we left and found a room at a very nice hotel right down the road. Upon leaving, we watched a large group of people crawl through a hole in the fence on the highway side and walk into the side entrance of the hotel. I don't expect five stars at a Motel 6, but this was worse than your average "get what you pay for" situation, and the beautiful room we got elsewhere was just $30 more.

There was a constant smell of drug use and unsavory people everywhere. Would not suggest this motel and I will never stay there again.
