Everything ! Bed could be a bit softer

We waited over 15 mins for someone to check us in. I called the phone number numerous times and it went to voice mail. Finally when I got a hold of a person they were rude and said check in is not til 3. I said that I requested early check in and the person said that request was not received. Check in staff. We stayed 2 nights and never received cleaning service. The web site stated their was a trolley service and their was not a trolley that went to the motel.

Superb

Amazing staff, so friendly and caring. Very clean room, comfy bed. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Dog friendly, my dog loves it there and so do I. I've been staying there the last 4 years and love it.

Very good value and cleanliness I wish they would have given us a room on the ground floor as the entire place was lit busy at all!

Absolutely no problem checking in late, after hours

The hotel is situated in Wells which is centrally located between Ogunquit & Kennebunkport and it couldnt have been a better fit. The location was EVERYTHING. The room itself is quite large & kept pretty clean. Our only complaints were that the wifi was extremely spotty once we were in our room (it was towards the back so maybe that’s why?) and the room smelled a bit like cigarettes/smoke. Other than that, staff was friendly & helpful, plenty of parking, and only about a 10-20 min drive to either city. Would absolutely stay here again!

A great place to stay. What you see is what you get unlike other places

The location was great- safe and only quick drives to beaches, shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. There is an outdoor pool and outside seating areas around the property as well as a barbecue. The grounds are very well cared for. They are dog friendly and charge an additional $35 per night for pets. We saw lots of other dogs, but everyone cleaned up after themselves and we had no issues with noise. The major con for us was that the wifi connection was terrible. We were coming from abroad so rely heavily on our accommodation’s wifi rather than cellular data. The wifi here was pretty much unusable as nothing would load and I could not access my email. Also the toilet paper was truly the thinnest I’ve ever encountered… thinner than tissue paper. If these two things were fixed I would consider staying here again and it would greatly improve my rating.

We had a great stay at Anchor Inn and Cottages. For the price, it’s a total no-brainer! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, giving you everything you need for a no-frills, hassle-free stay. On top of that, the staff was absolutely amazing—so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a solid, affordable place in the area!

Anchorage Inn is very quaint a little older but very clean motel. Staff is absolutely wonderful very helpful. It’s located right on route one and close to everything, beaches, shops grocery stores. We had a great stay with absolutely no complaints about the property or room. Would definitely recommend this property.

It was clean and quiet. The bed. The mattress needs to be replaced. When you get in the bed you fall into a hole in the middle. Makes for an uncomfortable sleep. It’s hard to roll over.

Quiet, safe, pet friendly

The Anchor Inn would be more accurately called Rock Bottom. The entire "apartment" was smaller than a normal room. In the bedrooms there were NO CLOSETS. In the "kitchen" there were no glasses, no plates, no silverware. And the only cups were cardboard. There weren't even paper towels. The bathroom was barely big enough to turn around in, and there was no sink. Good grief: NO SINK in the bathroom! Its walls were cobbed together (poorly) with what I assume was wood. The toilet tissue was high on the wall behind the toilet. When we arrived, there was a dead fly floating in the toilet. My guess is he couldn't find his way out of the place and simply resorted to suicide. God bless his tiny soul.
