Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Des Moines West

The hotel was nice. My suite was very nice TV had a couple issues other than that one of the better hotels I’ve gotten to stay under this app. Hope it keeps going that way. I hope to stay there again. Bed was very comfortable.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Our room smelled like mildew, there was a large container of damp rid in our eo underneath television, and the ac unit on wall looked to have mold around it. The tv stopped working during the weekend and the bed was not comfortable. I was surprised at the poor quality of the room, we were hit by the smell right away and could not change rooms because hotel full.

Breakfast and staff were great! Had to clean two coffee spots of the night stand. Toilet lid worked fine but needs replaced, to old. One trash can did not have a liner so I didn't use it. Elevator didn't smell to good. I could hear and feel the springs in the mattress.

Modern, clean rooms, the Fairfield chain definitely is good value. Easy, free parking. Would definitely stay here in next stays in Des Moines.

Hotel was fine for a business travel overnight. It's not a 5 star hotel, however. No plug in the bathtub. No frills. But got the job done.

Clean and quiet

We had three bikes with us that they locked up in their conference room right next to the lobby so we didn’t have to lug them up to our room. Very nice.

The staff was nice but walking into the room it smelled musty

The staff were good but our room was terrible. The musty smell (Or dog urine) was overwhelming. The hotel is trying but needs some TLC to get it updated. Carpet is old and lots of painting and wall repair is needed.

For some reason, semi trucks, which run all night long,, park along the back of the hotel in the hotel parking lot. They were so loud, I asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel, which the staff did. Unfortunately, the room I moved to had been used previously by a smoker. Ugh. It was a bad stay.

Property is clean but could use some updating. The shower/bathtub were clean but there were patches and the bathroom door had water damage. It was clean and comfortable but definite signs of wear and tear. Breakfast was decent. Would not rule out staying there again.

48 Hour Cancellation policy is ridiculous!!! After 40 years as a Marriott member I will never use Marriott again.
