Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel

We had a great stay!

Great stay!! Very accommodating!

There was no conditioner in our shower, no exhaust fan in the bathroom so any use of the shower meant the entire bathroom was damp from steam as it was a closet almost it was so tight. The stairwell was one of the dirtiest stairwells I’ve seen but the elevators were so slow we used it because it was faster to trek to the other corner of the hotel. Go up flights of stairs and around to our room than wait on the elevator. This doesn’t live up to the Sheraton name. It has me rethinking booking Bonvoy hotels in the future. The beds were itchy. The room smell of smoke. Pool was ice cold. Overall would never stay again.

We did not get a working key to our room until we returned to the hotel around midnight. Multiple trips to the front desk and more than one maintenance person working on our door when we are trying to relax in our room. The hotel was fine otherwise but not being able to access our room was a pain. Also had to wait in line when we arrived around midnight only to wait in line just for a key to our room that we had checked in hours ago. No mention of any compensation.

Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.

The bathtub drained way too slow. standing in water while showering. The body wash soap container was empty. Brought the empty bottle to the front desk first thing in the morning, but staff did not bring a new bottle before we had to check out. Other than these small issues, I would stay again.

Like other reviews, they only have two elevators so wait time could be a problem, we were on 2nd floor so we used stairs a lot so really wasn't an issue for us.

This was our second year staying for a baseball tournament. The hotel is very nice and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Even with the hotel being busy it did not feel loud or hectic. We will definitely return.

Great experience. Staff was attentive and responsive with our basic needs. Hotel was clean and very accommodating. We were there with countless other youth sport teams and the Hotel managed to be keep up with all of the needs of the teams and guests.

Clean room, good breakfast and the on-site fitness area was decent as well.
