ANDAZ WEST HOLLYWOOD, BY HYATT

I have stayed at the Andaz several times over the past year. The downtown view rooms are large with a smaller shower room. The main gripe i have is the $241 charge for parking and resort fee for two nights with tips on top. I just think this is excessive and greedy. I’m from the UK and we have views on these things.

Staff all really friendly and helpful.

However, I am completely baffled by the overnight valet rate of $75 a night. Even accounting for West Hollywood pricing, that feels excessive just to park a car between two white lines. Combined with the nightly $40 resort/destination fee (plus a $5 tax), it starts to feel a bit outrageous. While I realize some of these fees may be out of the hotel's direct control, it's frustrating to pre-pay for a stay only to get hit with an extra $50+ in nightly incidentals, followed by a $75 ransom just to have a vehicle for your own convenience.

The hotel has a funky, modern vibe. Like a place for parties. Good location because near touristy places. The residential area nearby is nice. It was close enough to Jon and Vinny's- a pizza and pasta bar and restaurant that is so cool, serves great food, and has wonderful staff. Very touristy, the area is unclean. Had to take uber all the time, not walkable, didn’t know where to have a nice breakfast. I don’t recommend this for families. As LA is massive, wish there are buses that are safe, nice and covers the shopping mall, restaurant areas.

The hotel was very nice and spacious. Pool was excellent. Everything was clean and location was great. However, staff seemed extremely entitled and came across as not wanting to be helpful or even wanting to be there.

One of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at! Best location for all the Hollywood essentials! Especially if you are a comedy fan. Also, the BEST view from the pool. Couldn’t spent a whole week up there.

The pool is fantastic and absolutely worth spending extra money on the cabana. The rooms are nice enough but not as good as some other hotels in the area. For example, there was only one tiny trash can in the bathroom. Also tiny holes in the curtains and a stain on one of the chairs. Not awful; still a nice room, but little areas of wear and tear. I did find it odd that they didn't hand out any kind of welcome items. Usually hotels will give you a printout or a card with information like guest wifi and all of that. I had to go down to reception to ask about that since the general wifi was slow. Overall, I had a nice stay, but those were just a few things I noticed. I will say the staff was phenomenally nice and helpful. And the location is killer.
