Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott West Monroe

Arrived here after driving all day, wound up being double charged because the person checking me in was confused by her system. They sent me to a room while they figured it out and had a key activated, but I had to wait for them to bring me the key so I couldn’t leave. The elevator was broken and I was put on the 4th floor. Staff wasn’t rude, they just were not very accommodating. The hotel is also very expensive for what you get 300+ for a weekday night in Monroe is wild.

Elevators dont work

The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Teared us so well and like family. Felt taken care of. Elevators were down had to use the stairs. Beds were uncomfortable and hard. Gave some back pain.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The elevator was broken the entire stay and my room was on the 3rd floor. I was by myself with my 4 and 6 year old grandsons and all our gear. We had to haul it all up in 3 trips. The room key didn't work when we came back late one night and I had to take the 2 very tired little ones up and down the 3rd story twice for that. The TV selections were terrible with nothing to keep little ones entertained. Breakfast was also terrible with almost nothing to choose from. It was such a disappointing stay. I would definitely avoid it next time I'm there to visit family.

The staff was the most friendly hotel staff we've ever had. The hotel was very clean.

First off the elevators did not function. Not a single elevator was in working order. Would not have booked a room if I had known. Second, the front desk gave someone a key to our room as we were sleeping. Two people entered as we were asleep, this startled us from our slumber. The front desk acted as if it was not a big deal or a real issue . I believe it is a big deal and a problem, either the front desk is inept or part of a criminal group stealing possessions. Good thing we carry, those two literally ran for their lives

The elevator had been damaged by lightning and they notified everyone before the stay even started. I chose to stay anyway and the staff was amazing making the best of a tough situation that was out of their control. Had staff carrying bags to your room.

Our family has been going from Texas to Florida to the beach the last six years, Monroe is halfway. We usually stay at Town place Suites. We tried this Fairfield. First we find out elevators aren't working, so we asked for first floor since we had heavy ice chest . Nothing was available & staff didn't seem to put our problem high on her list, she didn't offer to have someone carry 50 lbs ice chest..my wife is over 65, & I'm over 70...we did it. Both doors in our room stuck on the tile floor, the room door, & the bathroom door. 6:30 Breakfast didn't start til 7:30, & we found several containers of spoiled milk in the Buffett fridge including one carton of chunky milk. We won't stay again, either we will go back to Townplace or go on to Home 2 in Vicksburg.

Elevator was broken clerk checked us in without telling us. Assigned us to fourth floor and told me my handicapped wife would have to climb stairs. Very rude and unprofessional man. Claimed to have emailed us about situation which was not true. Very rude and will try to avoid this chain in my travels.

I arrived July 23 was told the elevators are out they’ve been out for a while. They gave me a room on the third floor. I climbed the stairs go to the third floor somebody’s in the room. I come back down the stairs they give me a room on the second floor, which I’m not sure why they didn’t offer that to begin with the room was filthy. You’ll be better off saving your money and go to a motel six.

Pulled back covers and found large stained area on sheets. Went to front desk and was offered another room on higher floor but elevators were not working. Was told house keeping was not available to replace bedding. So I booked another hotel and left

I made my reservations on June 16 for a June 26 arrival. On my arrival, I find that the elevator is not working and has been out for a month. I should have been told this upfront so I would have had the choice of choosing another hotel if no room was available on the first floor. I have mobility issues and stairs are a real issue for me. The clerk was extremely apologetic and after checking with maid service, she said if I could wait a half hour or so, she could get me on the second floor right by the stairway. Travelers should be made aware upfront regarding major issues with accommodations.

It was nice and the people were kind and very helpful! We unfortunately stayed after a storm had hit and had no elevators, no ice, and no WiFi. We weren’t informed of that, but we booked through booking.com so maybe that was why.

Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
