Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Wichita

After nearly 12 hours on the road, we fully intended to shower, grab dinner, and get some sleep. Instead, we spent our time determining whether the room was even suitable to occupy. During our inspection, in addition to the pervasive smell, we found multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues, including damaged flooring, heavily worn and stained cabinetry and countertops, evidence of water damage under the sink, burn marks, damaged trim, and an air freshener on max that appeared to be *attempting* to mask the odor rather than address it. The room was simply not reasonably habitable. We returned to the front desk, explained that the room smelled of mildew, mold, and animal waste, and informed them that we would NOT be staying. We then paid for a room at another hotel because there was NO WAY we could have slept there!!!

Place needs to be renovated. Outside a bit run down. But good value. We were not looking for that low of a value hotel

The place is completely dirty. The curtains are falling off the walls. Room smelled like rotten cigarettes. Not a dish or utensil in sight for a full kitchen. Ac cannot keep up was over 80 degrees the whole stay! Would NOT recommend

DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel is absolutely disgusting. They tried to put us in a room that smelled freshly smoked in with questionable stains on the bedding. They showed us a 2nd room that smelled terrible like mildew or something but super strong and again had questionable stains on the bedding again. 3rd room smelled fine but had cockroaches running across the bed. We have 3 kids with us and all 3 rooms were unacceptable especially when 2 of us have asthma and allergies. They then refused to give us our money back because they said they gave us options. This is absolutely not ok.

Walked in room. Smelled like pot. Asked for a different room didn’t have one. So we left. Hopefully can get a refund front desk guy on staff was zero help

WiFi not secured. Rooms are junky. Batteries in both remote controls were dead. Water pressure in shower was bad. The shower head was broke. The floors are so dirty they make your socks brown. We had 3 nights reserved and only stayed 2 bc it was so uncomfortable. Very disappointed

It visibly looked like refurbished apartments. Our room had some graffiti in our room and it looked like somebody punched the shower wall. They could poor a little more revenue into upkeep and repairs.

This hotel was awful. It was so awful, we asked for a refund. We didn't want to sit anywhere or bring our luggage into the room.The ceiling in the bath was bowed and stained. Also, it was stained in the main area. Closet door was coming off. Disinfectant smelled terrible. The couch had gaps between pillows and seat and it was stained. The outside property was unkempt. Grass was not cut and full of weeds. Paint on exterior was peeling. It was a very unsightly property in nicely kept suburb of Wichita. Pictures on Expedia website are very misleading. Property did not appear safe. For $200, we expected way better.

This place is horrible and not clean. The sofa bed upholstery was dirty. Should’ve been grey but was brown from dirt. Roaches, baseboards were broken and separating from the wall. Smelled of smoke. Trash bins t/o the community were packedrer and over filled.

Cockroach races were on! Was there 1 week and they never cleaned the room, asked for towels they said there were none, tv didn’t work, room flooded during thunderstorm, complained every day and they didn’t do anything, last day they cleaned room but left the pile of towels from the flood laying on the floor. Absolutely disgusting and the staff were incredibly rude, if I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would.

I was excited to find a hotel that was big and private for my family since we had to stay a couple of days due to a tournament. My disappointment when I walked into the room and find ceiling fans with up to 20 years of dirt, the walls and ceilings look to have mold or dirt, carpet was dirty and smelly. Restrooms were not clean. I found hair from the previous person that was staying. The stove had two burners that were not working. Some of the outlets were not working. The TV in the living room was not working. For the price they are charging per night, I would’ve expected attention from management about the situation, but the only option was to move to another room, but to my disappointment, all the other rooms that I saw we’re in the same condition.

This place was disgusting. No way this is a three star hotel. Stains in the tub and all over the carpet & furniture. Holes in the walls and curtains. Ground level sliding glass door that wasn’t safely secured. Do not stay here.

One of the better places that isn't expensive to stay at.

This should not be listed for extended stay. The kitchenette had no cookware or utensils. The stove was greasy . The warning was on constantly even with the burners remooved. The TV cable was not attached to the baseboard. The bed frame had sharp metal protruding at ankle level

The bath tub and what looked like blood or rust in the curtains had holes in them. The bed made my eyes red because of all the bleach they used in the room and on the bedding.. and the couch smelled like someone or animal pissed on it... I will NOT STAY AT OTHER HAWTHON. TO BAD THAT I CAN'T GET A REFUND FROM THE PLACE
