Oceanfront Pan American Hotel

Wonderful! Would stay there again with no hesitation!

The pool is great and the hotel is very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were not very comfortable and the price was a bit much.

This is our first time staying at the PanAmerican. We usually stay at the Fleur de Lis because of their high standards for cleanliness and attention to detail. PanAmerican is a close second to the Fleur. The property is right by the beach and the rooms are well laid out. The front desk staff are very polite and attentive. The onsite restaurant offers decent food and service, although the menu is pricey. Onsite parking is a plus. My husband and daughter enjoyed the large heated pool. Our room had a queen bed and pullout sofa bed. Both beds were quite hard which was rough on my joints and made sleep difficult. The room was cleaner than most average hotels, but there were little things like finding an orthodontic rubber band in the sofa bed, other people's hair in the tub and finding moldy spots on the shower curtain that took away from a perfect score for this property. I am used to arriving to an immaculate room that has a broom, dust pan and disinfectant spray available in room. If you are very uptight about details, this might not be the spot for you. If you are flexible and willing to overlook minor issues, the PanAmerican is a solid choice.

Minor bad news: as a result of booking through Expedia apparently, discovered that our RESERVED room double booked, so we had to change rooms mid-stay. Staff was helpful and was not a big deal, but was inconvenient. Sadly, the rate increased significantly, which was unpleasant surprise. There were slight inconveniences in the room: no bedside reading lamps. Instead, bright overhead lights over the bed. In room #2, the BRIGHT light flickered annoyingly. In room #2, the bathroom door would not close completely (in a 6 person suite, this can be an issue). The on-site restaurant Cavu lacks ANY vegan breakfast options (not even oatmeal?!?!), and their food is overpriced and mostly not great. One pool attendant stared at me and/or the clock while I swam during the last hour that the pool was open. Rude and Awk. Here's the great news: despite whatever minor annoyances, the room/beds quite comfortable. The view of the ocean is spectacular! The kitchenette convenient, esp coffee maker/filters (bring your own drip coffee) and fridge. The pool is nicely heated and large. There are plenty of lounge chairs and shade/sun as desired. We loved having close access to the beach and enjoyed playing beach volleyball at the nearby net. The front desk/housekpg staff very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Our kids loved having such close access to the Wildwood Boardwalk.

Initially we had no idea where to stay, so I somewhat randomly picked the Pan American. This gem did not disappoint, cute and fresh, a bit retro and well appointed. Positioned near a bike rental vendor and within 10-minutes of the boardwalk. Very pleased, would highly recommend.

Excellent staff, family friendly, and in walking distance to all sorts of activities and amenities.

1-We were there in mid May and the temperature was quite cold in the evening. There was no heat as they had switched over to air-conditioning mode. The front desk did come up with portable space heaters but it wasn't quite adequate. 2-Our shower didn't work. When we informed the front desk during checkout the next morning their response was less than adequate. They asked why we didn't call and our response was that we didn't want plumbers in our room at that hour of the night in order to make appropriate repairs. To this they had no response. We believe they should have offered us a discount given the circumstances. They did not.

Right on beach and has restaurant. Sliding door to balcony very hard to open or close. Same issue in multiple rooms. Will need work to fix. My wife couldn't open the doors but I could.

Everything was very clean and beautifully decorated. The only issue was that the AC was too loud and did not cool the room enough.

We had a great time. We will be back. The pool was comfortable, the location was perfect by the beach and boardwalk, the food at the restaurant was delicious. The room was spacious and clean.

During the course of our stay, we noticed a few things that let us know we didn’t get the best room. We were in room 215. The floor in the shower was buckling. The area near the drain was discolored. When you sat down on the toilet seat, you kept banging your leg on the toilet paper roll because it was mounted too low. If you sat on an angle, you didn’t hit it. When you opened the screen door to the balcony, it looked like it was coming loose. Also, with the screen open the tiles in the ceiling would flip open. It was a short walking distance to the dog park, boardwalk, and beach. There is a nice play area and basketball courts across the street. The pool was nice and relaxing. I wish they offered a continental breakfast included in your stay. The restaurant inside offered a nice selection.

This is one of the better hotels in Wildwood Crest. Brand new lounge chairs and umbrellas. Common areas well maintained. Rooms starting to show signs of age. Backsplash behind bathroom sink has wainscoting that is warped and coming away from the wall. If they keep up on that, it will be 5 stars.
