Anchorage Inn and Resort

Excellent location and ease of stay. Hotel is older so there were certain functions being outdated vs more modern hotels but once you get over that it was quite pleasant. Looks to be a very well used facility for families with young kids. We had a good stay.

The Anchorage Inn has a great location across the street from York Beach. That’s it for positives in my review. The room was small and desperately needs updating; the tub caulking was cracked and a floor tile broken. The shower curtain was cheap! The sink outside the bathroom leaked onto the small counter area around the sink. The carpet is old and needs cleaning. The AC/heater unit is old and noisy!

Cons: shortage of parking and unclear where the front office was when we arrived. The atrium is really loud when the pool is being used until 9pm which made inside our room very loud. Unfortunately, we had a less than welcoming experience with the front desk staff. No greeting, didn’t even say “hi” prior to saying “last name.” And when I said my last name and went to spell it, I was interrupted. And was interrupted again when I had a question. No information about the property was given other than information about the pool bracelets. The front office is disheveled and dirty, not at all what I’d expect from this property. Our room only contained two bath towels (when we had 4 people staying in the room). When we asked for more, it seemed like we were inconveniencing the front desk staff. Unfortunately, this property didn’t make a great impression on us and likely will not stay again.

This Anchorage Inn had a lot of families w/small children. I wasn't able to enjoy a peaceful swim in the outdoor pool, as young kids were jumping, splashing, screaming and continuously going down the slide. Also, our room w/two Queen size beds was small, thereby making it difficult for two people to navigate around the room. The decor was very nice and the bathroom multi-colors of blue/green brought ocean colors inside the room. The bathroom lighting was nautical looking and quite nice! Due to the fact that my husband and I are in our late 70's and early 80's, we will not consider revisiting the Anchorage Inn again in the future, due to kids screaming and yelling at both the inside and outside pools. We will only be staying at an "adults only" type of hotel in the future.

Pool and hot tub were filled with children and not open late enough for childless adults to enjoy. Our ocean view room was obstructed by a building. One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at and it wasn’t cheap.

The pool area needs some sort of supervision. Kids running. Jumping into the water repeatedly. Was hard to swim for adults and kids that did behave. Was unable to use the hot tub because it was packed with unruly kids. Most between 6 and 11. No adults in with them. Hot tubs should be adults only. 18 and up. Kids have a splash pad, kiddie pool and slide into large pool. This limits adults to enjoy what is offered for them. Also had an issue with loud, drunk obnoxious next door male. Last night we called he was fighting, screaming and smashing the room. Office said security would be called. Never followed up. Thought the guy was going to seriously hurt the woman in the room. The screaming profanities were terrible. We wanted to pack up and leave at midnight but was hesitant to face the maniac. We waited a few hours until he finally passed out and packed and headed home. Very disappointing stay from what we thought would be a relaxing 4 day get away.

We love this hotel! Always a yearly summer favorite to visit!

Room was dated and carpet was damp and as a contractor you could see where they touched up the paint years ago but you see where they painted way out of the area and never fixed the mistake it looked that one of those that’s good enough jobs

The Anchorage Inn is an exceptional property with the highest level of customer service . The entire staff very accommodating, respectful, prompt, courteous, professional. So impressed! Excited to return !

We stayed in the atrium with the 3rd pool it was nice and clean.
