The Grandview Hotel

Very good

View on fist floor is directly at the open. There is a parking lot , Rt. 1a between you and beach, so be aware of that . Bed is comfortable. Furniture is dated, as is bathroom. Our room had broken tiles around shower faucet (Rm103). Light fixtures are rusting, heat is baseboards, air is small wall unit. They both work.

The balcony with comfy chairs and lovely view! Narrow stairs to the 3rd floor, however there is new construction and there will be an elevator next year.

The view from the room overlooking the ocean was amazing. Just to sit on the balcony and watch the waves crash, the tide come in and out and the lighthouses in the distance was wonderful and relaxing. The room was very clean. There is no microwave, just a fridge and coffee pot. The bed was very soft, to the point where your upper body depressed so much your feet were elevated. But surprisingly, we slept well. There was also a small dining table for 2 which was perfect for us to eat in with. The bed could have been a little firmer as well as the pillows. I think the pillows need an upgrade. There happened to be construction going on in the back when we stayed, and they like to start early. We also noticed there was a blast of cold water about halfway through our showers that we couldn't explain. We did not mention this to the front desk at check out.

We stayed in room 310 which is the top floor corner. The views from the balcony and extra window was spectacular. The sound of the roaring ocean lulled us to sleep at night. The sunrises were wonderful. The overall location of this hotel is gorgeous and close to everything. The rickety 3 story narrow stairs are absolutely a treacherous nightmare. We arrived at night and it was poorly lit and I?missed a step and almost tumbled down them. Dragging luggage and groceries up those stairs took 3 trips and it's the only reason I can't 100% recommend this hotel. Also the bathroom is very dated and needs to be gutted and replaced.

Bad

I loved that this property was right across the street from the ocean. The room was lovely. The bathroom could use some work, around the faucet in the tub was broken tile. I was on the first floor which I was hoping would afford nice views of the beach but it was obscured by vehicles from the hotel parking. A pool was advertised as an amenity and one of the reasons I booked that specific hotel and it was not available during my stay, so that was a disappointment. Overall a nice place to stay.

Loved the quiet peaceful stay at Grand View and look forward to coming back. Staff was excellent, rooms were clean, and the ocean sound and view were fantastic

Their was not a lot of counter space around the sink

View and balcony were great. Bathroom and room cleanliness could have been better. Stairs outside bit slippery when wet.

how close it was to the beach and the water view Bathroom needs work shower head was too low on the wall husband could not get under it to shower. Ceiling tiles in the bathroom also look like they are going to fall.

Being right on the ocean was pretty great, it was nice to be able to have good view of the water and hear the waves crashing It was pretty run down for the price. And with no elevators, you're either basically on the side walk if you're on the first floor, or your climbing rickety stairs to get to your room. The room was clean but definitely run down. Poorly painted tile in the bathroom, cracked tile on the floor, ac power button was broken and you could only use the remote (which isn't a major thing but we didn't know that and couldn't locate the remote at first so that was a little annoying), the screen door to the porch was sort of broken so you couldn't really trust it to prevent bugs from coming in, and the people who had stayed in the room before us left food in the fridge that was still in there when we arrived. For the cost of the room in the off season, it just seemed a little too old and rundown.
