Ocean Surf at York Beach

Very limited sound barrier between first and second floor. Could hear everything above us.

-Room was clean, bathroom was large and clean -Directly across the street from the ocean, but not a sand beach Cons: -Room was "bare bones", Very little furniture, no desk, dresser or chairs. No pictures on the wall. We had to bring balcony chairs inside to have anyplace to sit. -"Partial ocean view" meant we had to stand at the edge of the balcony and lean over to catch a glimpse of the water. Our direct view was some backyards, abandoned lawn furniture and bikes.

I don't feel like the property was how it appeared online. I didn't care for the bathroom door given that I wasn't traveling with just family. The floor was dirty and the sheets felt like they had sand in them. I did bring this to the staff's attention and although they had their cleaning crew come out that afternoon, the floors were still not what I'd consider clean. Couldn't find parking the second night so had to park in a handicap space which was frustrating. You can literally hear everything up above so when other guests are coming back late at night it sounds like a hippo is about to come through the ceiling. The bar and pool area are the best part about the property. The bartender was also very friendly. I wouldn't choose this hotel again but location wise it was great.

Location fantastic, breakfast was okay. Staff were friendly. Parking was convenient!! Coffee was muddy, gave us ice bucket but no ice, outside light didn’t work! Would have been nice to have a small table!

Cons: no elevator made the trek to our room difficult. No table, desk, or closet. I had to request room to be cleaned.

Walls are paper thin, ask for the top floor if you don’t want to hear stomping all night

Proximity to beach and cleanliness. My deadbolt didn’t work, so I put some luggage in front of the door, no one came in.

Room was clean with ocean views. Private balcony to sit at. Poolside bar with friendly staff.

Cool beachfront hotel. Close to restaurants. Nice breakfast and pool. Comfortable rooms. Really nice staff. It's obviously recently updated.

Clean and updated rooms No elevator

The location near the ocean was the best part of the stay. The room did not match the impression given by the photos online. The regular air conditioning was not working, so there was a portable AC unit in the room that was extremely loud all night and made it difficult to sleep. We also had what appeared to be gnats or fruit flies in the room, and the bed was very noisy whenever you moved. We were on the first floor, where the ocean view was very limited, and people regularly walked directly past the room, so there was very little privacy if the door was open. We had also read reviews about hearing the waves crashing from the room, but that was definitely not our experience.

Loved the location of our room. The pool is a extra nice surprise, with food and drinks, also being heated. The room had no chair to sit at and not enough places to put things, clothes, bathroom stuff

Closed by the beach We found it very deceiving, we originally booked the premier beach view, instead our room had the parking view

The room itself was a bit tight, especially the bathroom with its small shower. I was also surprised at the lack of places to put things. Aside from the bed and one small nightstand there was no furniture in the room. Another table, dresser or even some hooks on the wall would have made a huge difference. The bathroom also could do with some wall hooks so that there’s places to hang the towels. The room had an outdoor sitting area, which is where you have to go to see the ocean. It’s shared with the room next door tho. Wasn’t anyone there when I stayed but I imagine if they were full you’d get to know your neighbors.

Right across the street from the ocean .. most rooms if not all have ocean views.

Location was nice. I had 2 rooms and we were in different buildings and said we booked 2 different rooms which was not true! And the hotel blamed it on the booking company. No elevator in the building, too many dogs! It was just okay. Would not stay there again.
