Great rooms across from the beach.

The check in was difficult. It was not an easy contactless check in. There was a lot of unnecessary information needed and it took way too long.

Ocean views

The team was very communicative before our arrival on the premises. We had been traveling for several hours prior to arriving and the staff were very accommodating of our late check in time; they provided instructions over the phone and this helped immensely. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a very clean and pleasant room. It’s small but cozy and featured a very soft bed. The room also had small amenities like a mini fridge and coffee maker (no microwave though), and some cans of water. The bathrooms were also clean and well kept, and we appreciated having a warm shower after a long day of travel. The room advertised that breakfast was included at the restaurant next door. However, after walking between both locations in the rain and discovering everything was closed and not a single staff member in sight we decided to call the front desk to get help. The agent informed us that we should have looked at the back of the building (where there was no signage) to get to the lobby for breakfast. But it quite literally was a table with nothing more than a pot of coffee, granola bars, and a few pastries. We had been traveling for well over five hours the day before and were looking forward to eating a good meal, but this was very disappointing. Please do not advertise breakfast if that is not what your location offers, we had to travel another 20-30 mins before we could find a location to eat at.

The long, expansive, sandy beach is right across the road from the hotel which was perfect. Another big plus is that The Stone's Throw restaurant is right next door. There is inside and outside seating. The menu is interesting. We had appetizers and drinks which were both great. Just to note though, the restaurant was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday during the time of our stay.

The best part was the location. I did not like checking in with a kiosk. There was no personal attention. I booked online and requested a change in my room as my friend had a bad knee and going up to the second floor would be difficult . There was no return call made to me to make this change and when we checked in we received a third floor room. There was no personal attention except at the sister hotel The Nevada but my friend couldn’t walk that far . It was difficult but we kept the third floor room as it was not easy to make a change .

The room was exactly like it was on the website. It was a fabulous place to stay sitting on the balcony looking at the beach was wonderful and if you needed help, you could contact them and they were very helpful.

No hot water for showers the first night but they did move us for the other 2 nights

Loved the hotel. Never had any interaction with the staff but everything was great. Location, decor, a the room was amazing. Had a wonderful time

Stones Throw is an excellent experience - usually. Fabulous location. Attentive and responsive staff. Clean rooms and common areas. Modern amenities. Conveniently located to restaurants and activities. I stayed this July 4th weekend for 2 nights and was returning for the 2026 Labor Day weekend - 4 nights this time! Sooooo looking forward to it! No hot water in my building BUT what I didn't like was NO up-front acknowledgement of that. When I moved into my room, my next-door neighbors told me to check for hot water. No hot water. AFTER I talked to local staff, I was moved to another room (with no hot water). She thought there was hot water (?) in the 2nd room. I had luke-warm water for 2 minutes in the shower that night, then it turned cold. The couple who gave me the original heads-up had been there for a day already and had had no hot water for 2 days. They were also moved (next to me again). Male claimed to have had a hot shower in the 2nd room the same night I did not. Local staff were excellent, but, I'm not sure they were empowered to make decisions. I had 3 more nights on my reservation & they couldn't figure out how to make that happen in a room with hot water (Labor Day weekend). They didn't offer me a discount (50% to remain and take cold showers). I would have entertained that because I understand that stuff happens and it is always at the most inconvenient times. They made no offer. It took 1/2 hour to determine which room to move me to for the first night. Then she was working on the next 3 nights... After 20 - 30 minutes (BTW I sat across the street at the ocean while the rearranging was being negotiated) of local staff making phone calls back to central desk trying to accommodate me for those last 3 nights, I told her I was open to a refund and I'd just go home. She brightened up and made that happen. Apologizing profusely... So, I stayed one night, went home next day, and received a prompt refund. I'm sad because I had a totally different vision for my weekend and it was based on my stay at Stones Throw. BUT, the solution lacked imagination.

Shower floor wasn't properly installed. Room door had large gap with sunlight shining through. Air conditioner was very dusty & moldy. Under staffed, had to seek help from Nevada for checkin (no key cards) and beach chairs & umbrella.

Great access to beach and water Particularly on patio with evening bar Enjoyed the mornings out there. Room was small and no desk. I like to write but patio was great alternative.

The room was a little small but not a big issue.

Location of the hotel is great, the room was clean, coffee maker was unique and worked well.

Constant noise in the mornings. Garbage trucks, delivery trucks, laundry, don't expect to sleep in. Also, no actual staff, besides the cleaners. Parking was a problem as well.

Room was very small , no true night stands just small wooden blocks . Could not even put a glass of water on and bathroom sink tiny. Room was clean and met our needs as this was a last minute stay . Bigger bathroom , bed wasn’t comfortable . Better mattress .

It’s very clean and so close to the beach! No concerns.

Stones Throw is right across from the best beach in york, IMHO. Plus everything you need is right there. There is s little general store and a surf shop. The motel have chairs and umbrellas to use. It is perfect! Getting sands in the room and no broom to stop it out. I thought about a foot bath basin at the door before going into the room.
