We were incredibly disappointed from start to finish. After a long day of travel, we checked in and found out that the pool and hot tub were closed for repairs and would be closed for our entire stay. In fact, it had been closed for some time, and they never mentioned it on their website or when we booked the room. Then, we got to our room only to find that we had no hot water. We informed the front desk and they said, "We're aware. It's everyone, not just you." They offered no timeline for repairs or anything helpful at all. We returned to the room to take cold showers, only to find that the shower was broken. The maintenance staff was called in to fix it, which they did, at 11:00 PM! The staff during breakfast were not helpful and not quick about anything. I asked for decaf coffee on our first morning and waited over 25 minutes for them to bring out a carafe. The pancake machine was never working and none of them ever seemed to know how to fix it - they would walk off to "find someone" and just never return. When we checked out and told them (politely) about the issues we'd had, they offered nothing... no discount, no voucher for a free night or a free meal, nothing - not even an apology! Customer Service is truly dead at the Holiday Inn Express in York.

Booked hotel thru expedia for 2 nights, WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. Expedia pays hotel up front so hotel doesn't care about any issues that the hotel has, it has your money and Expedia won't do anything to get you a refund if you want to leave the property. Hotel had pool area closed for renovations and the breakfast are had no power so food was cold and horrible. The 1 ice machine was out of order and there was no ice in whole hotel and they would not supply any...95 degree days outside also. Expedia is no good for hotel stays and Holiday Inn Express's are crap holes...we stayed at 4 different ones on our trip to Philly and all 4 we junk. One was ran by and India family and it seemed to be an issue to get breakfast made. They seemed to not be able to make enough breakfast for the 6-930 am times...orange juice was watered down so it looked like yellow water...will not be back to any Holiday Inn Express's again...just plain awful people running them and bad attitudes.

breakfast was good, room was big

Great location for food or just for travel if passing through.
-
Our shower had what looked like mold on the ceiling. Very unhappy experience

Swimming Pool was closed.

Breakfast was good.

Check in went great, the room was great at first, then we used the bathroom. The light switch arched inside the wall when it was turned on, the lighting was extremely dim and the shower was not very clean. Location was great.

My perfume bottle gone missing.

Asked for a late checkout during checkin. Desk staff was very helpful and clear that it would be 12pm. Woke up to a knock on door at 8am from another staff member to ‘see if we needed anything’. Another knock at 10:50am. It felt like the staff was making sure we didn’t get the sleep we needed and we would be better off not asking. The property is good.

It seemed like everyone was slamming the doors .. either when a basketball team checked in at 9pm . All night long the 3rd floor was like a college dorm . It was horrible. The Hotel needs to invest in better doors.

I should have called ahead to make sure they had a handicap accessible room available since I recently had hip surgery and need a walker to get around. Unfortunately all the handicap rooms were taken when I arrived. Other than that, the stay couldn't have been better.

Nice hotel, staff are freidly and helpful. No issues.

Pool has been out of order for better part of a year. Gym and fitness center taped off with poly and painters tape with a paper note taped to door. All walls are marked up and in need of patching. Wallpaper peeling, toilet leaks in bathroom, smoke detector on ceiling dangling and hole access crude and visible. Window unit was problematic fir closed mate control. Bathroom vent fan sounded like a fixed wing old prop plane getting up to speed. I put up a Google review with more detail. This hotel needs to close and fully fix the issues. Spending 15-20mins to get to your room or leave hotel because elevators are slow as can be? Not a good guest experience. My family was very disappointed.

The hotel is outdated. Which isn't the main issue. While showering, the faucet began to move, at first I though I was seeing things since I did not sleep well. The A/C unit was LOUD! The faucet moved again, and then it went flying off the wall of the shower. The water was just coming out the the pipe in the wall. I had put it back on and hold it with my knee to finish my shower. Thankfully I was not hurt by the flying object, however the front desk just said, oh man when I showed him a picture of the broke faucet. There also was no hair dryer or coffee maker in the room. There was coffee in the lobby prior to breakfast being served.

We spent 2 nights at Holiday Inn Express. It is a very clean hotel. The staff was very nice.We were there for my granddaughters cheer competition. When we arrived Friday night there was a sign on the desk saying the pool and gym was closed for maintence (the whole reason we picked this hotel). It was closed our entire stay. When we got to our room the toilet wasn't working properly. We called the front desk, maintenance arrived about an hour later (10:30 pm). Got it working. In the morning there was a note under the door saying we might not have hot water till 3:00pm. My granddaughter had her competition to go to so her and my daughter took a barely warm shower and her other grandmother and I just washed off. On top of that the toilet still wasn't working when we got up in the morning so we notified the front desk and maintenance showed up after lunch and put new insides in the toilet and a new water line. Finally working. My granddaughter was very disappointed about the pool being closed. The staff and maintenance man were very nice. They did what they could to help with the problems.I felt we should have gotten an adjustment on our room for everything we went thru, but we didnt.

I made the reservation for my elderly father to stay there for five days. He decided not to go and I spoke with the hotel and Expedia. The hotel will not give me ANY of my dads money back. The reservation was canceled in the second day. Dad tried to talk to the hotel the first night and they wouldn’t even talk to him. He was told to call Expedia. My father is elderly and does not do well with cellphones. I was willing to pay for the first night and a cancellation fee but the hotel won’t give any of his money back. At $157 a night, my dad is out a lot of money. He couldn’t come because he found out he had bed bugs and didn’t want to take the chance of taking them to the hotel.
