SureStay Hotel by Best Western Albuquerque Midtown

For the positives:breakfast was good, with waffles to make, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice, muffins etc. The beds were very comfortable (which is very important), and staff friendly. However, the negatives were all relating to the fact that property condition leaves a lot to be desired. The only sink in first room we were assigned had a bad clog and wouldn't drain. So they moved us to a new room because maintenance was gone for the day. The main door of the new room was hard to latch securely without slamming it. There were long black hairs in the toilet when we arrived (no one in my family has dark hair) and what appeared to be traces of mold on the bathroom ceiling. In our first room (which we were only in briefly) the refrigerator wasn't in great shape but the microwave appeared new, and the reverse was true in our second room. The dryer had an out of order sign on it (although there may have been working dryers on other floors, idk). Overall, it felt like a safe area (given it was in Albuquerque) and the beds were comfortable. If you're a single, adult traveler looking for a comfortable budget place to spend a night on a road trip, I could maybe recommend it, otherwise in my experience I'd probably look elsewhere.

Nice room, comfy space, quiet.

Pet friendly. Convenient location. Pool and hot tub were a plus. Rooms had a weird smell when the AC ran but other than that? Okay…the pet area was horrible tho. It was rocks. So too hot for my doggies feet. It Needs to be cleaned. And preferably grass would be better for the dogs.

Nothing It was so dirty. The trash cans were overflowing outside the door to enter and it smelled like microwaved fish throughout the halls. We were on the 2nd floor and in our room the floor was uneven with and concave hole right in the main walkway. The shower also has a floor issue that make a load creaking sound when you step in or walk in it. Feels like you are going to crash through the floor every step you take. It’s scary. The window was broken, so it didn’t close all the way. And there was a spider in the bed.

It could’ve been a little cleaner

Initially friendly staff but changed real fast. Ended up having to drive an hour to this hotel because it was the closest one with availability. Upon arrival the parking lot was swarming with people smoking weed and walking around without shoes. I questioned the staff where I could park our 26’ long moving truck and was told they did not have adequate parking on the premises for it. I asked where am I suppose to park in which they directed me to park in a random parking lot near the hotel. I did not feel comfortable leaving my whole house worth of belongings in a moving truck in some random parking lot. I then requested a refund and was told they could not refund because booking would still charge them. I then contacted a booking.com agent who was very understanding and agreed to waive the fees to the property. The “General” manager was apparently not there and only he could approve this type of thing. I left the hotel feeling satisfied that I would not be charged only to find out 2 days later they did in fact charged my account. Apparently this hotel and its managers only care about booking rooms and not customer satisfaction… because of this I will never stay in another surestay property.

just the customer service was good Looks very run down in the rooms and the restroom and showers were disgustimg and sounded like the floor was cracking… You’re making money off of people. You should at least put it back into the building.

There was BED BUGS!!!!! the vent was squeaky and it smelled like wet dog in the hall and room. staff couldn't move us rooms. we had to get a new hotel night of. We could not stay here.

I requested while booking for extra towels and bottled water. Was rudely told by front desk that "they don't do that". GPS on App was wrong and kept directing me to someone's personal home. Waited an additional 30+ mins just to check in. Only 1 person working front desk.

Good for enough rest after a long drive

Coffee and green chile w my breakfast Shampoo/ conditioner was very low. The shower drain was clogged, slow drain, awful smell in the hallway and my room, carpets are very dirty and stained.

Comfortable bed and great value if you're just looking for a place to land for a few hours. Dirty hallway carpets and vending machine was broken.

They didn't clean the room right before we checked in. My husband cut his foot with a glass that was not cleaned up before he arrived.

With the indoor pool and jacuzzi, full breakfast, and clean rooms, it had everything I needed for a really comfortable stay. The price seemed a little too good to be true, but it was true. I’ll definitely be rebooking here in the near future.

Clean, friendly, respectful. Fee for dog never mentioned online.
