Econo Lodge Ames

Staff was great! I didn't expect much as I wouldn't normally stay here, but was trying to cost save. This place was so much better than I envisioned. The staff is incredibly welcoming. The place is small but clean and will kept. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. My daughter fell asleep and had locked the door. At midnight they were more than happy to help us get into the room. Kind and courteous. I will stay here again. *No elevator since it's only 2 floors Shower drained slow but seeing as many of the guests seemed to work in the construction field, I can only imagine how hard it is to keep the drains clear, lol.

The facility was dirty and it smelled of smoke and marijuana, very little heat from and making the room cold and a comfortable to sleep

Run down, cluttered with old furniture in halls, outdated, blood stain on a pillow, smelled throughout the place of Marijuana (I had to stuff a towel in Crack of door) heater was obnoxiously loud. I was suppose to stay 2 more nights but ended up finding another hotel. I would have left as soon as I saw and smelled this place but it was too late at night. I asked for a refund through bookings, but no response.

Nothing Bathroom was terrible, sink slow drained and shower sprayed everywhere. No grab bars either.

Room was newly updated. Mattress felt very loose coils, sunk down a lot. Slept well anyway. Only one way into hotel. You could exit out side but not reenter. Also, the key card still used magnetic system. I couldn't put my phone next to the card or I lost access to my room.

The room wasn’t clean, there was rodent feces and bed bugs underneath the bedsheets, the floor was disgusting and the room smelled like cigarette smoke.

The breakfast was good. The management was very attentive and easy to work with. The Econolodge needs to be updated but the management seemed well aware of that.

Nothing Not clean sight get towels when needed. Hot water didn't work

I ended up with horrible bed bug bites all over. The room smelled terrible.

The location close to campus. The room was not clean, no smoke detector and wires hanging out of the ceiling, paint chipping off the ceiling and walls in the main entrance and bathroom. No outlet covers on air conditioning units in main areas, low water pressure. Blow dryer didn't work, top out let in bathroom did not work, heat light did not work. Ice machine on main floor did not work either. Trash in the front entry, not a very inviting hotel to stay at and for the price on a big weekend in Iowa for the football game coming from out of town is very disappointing.

Comfortable bed, shower good, location good, continental breakfast good, staff kind and price good! Thank you Nothing to complain about, room and area was fit for need.

The breakfast The nasty smells throughout the building , and people live in the lower room. Ice machine broken . The carpet throughout the building has nasty spots, and one looks like blood. Need lots of up date ,desk area was very unorganized..

The owner was very disrespectful and was trying to price goug.

Clean and quiet, friendly desk staff. Air conditioner wasn't quite up to par.
