Holiday Inn & Suites Ann Arbor Univ Michigan Area by IHG

The location was very accessible, and it was near quite a few nice stores and parks. The breakfast was fantastic, and the room itself was very spacious, with very comfortable furniture and a very soft bed. There wasn't much that I didn't like. Everything that I'd say here would be nitpicks, so I'd say that there were no issues with my stay that are worth noting here.

Staff were welcoming & very kind. The room was nice & pretty clean but the front lobby smelled musty. We booked this hotel with a group of our daughter's gymnastics teammates for a gymnastics event in the city. The children wanted to enjoy their evening together in the hotel pool. Most of the rest of the teammates were able to cancel & rebook at a hotel with a pool but we weren't because we booked through bookings.com for my first time. BIG mistake!! I will NEVER book through this site again!!!!! Our booking that was supposed to be a great price was more expensive than the others that were able to rebook at a nicer hotel with a pool.

The location was a positive and it appeared surface clean in the lobby and the room. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. There was an immediate and strong musty/moldy smell in the lobby, smelled faintly of sewage in the room, strongest in the bathroom. The pool, though advertised, was not operational and appeared as though it hadn't functioned in quite some time. There were additional "facilities fee" for the "amenities provided" which I feel like the hotel fee should have MORE than covered. Cable was choppy, the picture cut in and out frequently. I'm not sure if it was the cable or the outdated television that was the issue. Overall, I was very disappointed in the HI-Ann Arbor and would not book another stay at this location.

Against my better judgement, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. After I tracked down a member of the staff to check me in.....which was irritating after a long day of travel, they were really nice. Stepping into my suite was like arriving to a 1991 fever dream. If I wasn't so exhausted, I would have never used the tub, but I'm glad I did....it was wonderful! Cleanliness was questionable, due to the antiquated decor. I couldn't tell if the sofa had been cleaned since being manufactured during the Nixon presidency, due to the barfy shade of peach. Staff was wonderful and so friendly! When I woke up, I had an urge to go to Blockbuster and return my VHS of Encino Man, but after the amazing continental breakfast I realized that I had already returned my video over 30 years ago, and I had just been confused by the lack of modern day design. Can't wait to never do it again!

Location is in need of some TLC. Our room ….. cracked bath sink, missing door handle, dirty corners. Staff didn’t seem overly friendly. Likely will not return to this property.

The area was safe and easy to access restaurants and shopping. The room was clean. The hotel accommodated my early arrival. The breakfast was great! The smoking area was immediately outside the exit so I needed to walk through a cloud of smoke when I exited the building.

Thermostat didn't work in one room. Our bedroom the air conditioning didn't wok. You took a shower and the water went all over the bathroom floor.

Very limited options for breakfast, fruit not always fresh, coffee cold. Room bathtub was dirty and clogged. You can hear everything from the other rooms; TV, conversations, shower. For the price we paid during graduation weekend two stars will be appropriate.

We thought the breakfast closed at 11am, but apparently it closed at 10am. So, we had to go buy breakfast somewhere else forcing us to check out early. Perhaps post the hours better? Overall, the room was clean and comfortable with good amenities. We wished the hotel had a hot tub. We really look forward to that after a long day. The shower had hand lotion instead of conditioner in it. The bathroom fan didn't work, and the heat/AC wasn't working right. We did report these items to the front desk. The room seemed dated in comparison to other Holiday Inn Express' that we've stayed at this past year.

Plenty of parking, very close to campus activities

The breakfast was great and very healthy! The staff was accomodating also, they switched me to a new room when I wa checking in because the other rooms were being cleaned.
