Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Birmingham Colonnade

We have stayed at this location multiple times. Reserved a room weeks in advance because my son had a procedure at women’s and children’s the next morning. When we arrived at 8 o’clock the night before, we were informed the reservation had been canceled. I had an email the day before confirming the booking. The hotel was completely booked, and we did not have a place to stay.

Very clean property and the staff was very professional. The trip was a combination business and pleasure trip. The property did not have a private business center or conference room to conduct a confidential meeting. We were fortunate that when we conducted our meeting the lobby was virtually empty and was able to complete our business with some semblance of privacy.

Bed was comfortable. Location is good Breakfast choices never changed. Pool was green Staff not friendly at all except for Saturday breakfast crew. Front desk is horrible

To was in a nice quiet spot Just the tub in my room had a slow drainage and the shower curtain was too short

Solid stay. Staff was helpful. Facility was clean with the exception that they needed to dump their trash cans more often. Breakfast was average.

The hotel was hard to find. I appreciate communities that restrict large signs but there needs to be some signage on Colonade to guide travelers to the various hotels in that area. Jesse was especially helpful.

We did not get much sleep. The noise from the interstate, traffic, planes, room a/c, and whatever hotel equipment running right next to the room was so loud we couldn’t get decent sleep. We kept hoping it would quiet down but it never did. This was by far the worst hotel stay we have had in decades. The staff was seemed inexperienced with the reservation system making for slow check in and out. I would not recommend!

Not too good, breakfast was not good at all. Juice machine was not working. Lights in bathroom did not work. Floors needed to be vacuumed. If I needed a room for more than one night, this wouldn't have been my choice.

Everything was good until we tried to sleep. The air conditioner had a very loud noise coming on and off, which kept us up all night. Another couple in our group had the same problem. And another couple had to change rooms because the air did not work at all in their room. Apparently the system needs to be upgraded.

Great place to stay, very clean and very good location with plenty of food options !!
