Beautiful hotel, friendly and efficient service, quality WiFi, extremely reasonable price! More than satisfied with my stay! This will now be my “go to” hotel when I’m in town!

Great place for a lil vacation and to get away from things!

Room could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast was ok as well.

I's have to say that although the Chateau is a very attractive building, the actual experience of staying there is only average. Our room had a strong musty odor which suggests there are water or humidity issues of some sort. The bed was not comfortable. The included breakfast had typical hot offerings that were not interesting to us. We had breakfast elsewhere. There are two restaurants in the hotel. Scramblers is only open for breakfast and lunch. The Lido Lounge is only open until 9 and serves bar food. Menu was limited but the food we had was good.

Everything was slightly dirty. The beds weren’t very comfortable and the water pressure was terrible.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay immensely. Not a cookie cutter hotel, and everyone is so nice. Like that my cat is welcome. It did take until the third room to get it right; First room: no where to hang my clothes. Second room: there was tv armoire, but no rail in it and if there had been, only my shirt’s would have fit.Plus the room/suite had only a mini fridge, whereas the one I had reserved was supposed to have a full refrigerator. Finally the third room had a full refrigerator, and a closet with a bar(and hangars!) though I had to hang my ankle length dresses on the sliding barn door style rail. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the non-carpeted floor. The walk through kitchenette had the full refrigerator, a microwave, coffeemaker, deep sink, and a two burner convection (sp?) stove top. Wish the dishware was microwave safe, but the front desk gentleman brought up two plates that could be used. The bathroom was tiny but had what was needed, and two sinks, though it would be a tight, awkward fit if both were being used at the same time. The comfy king bed had what seemed to be an unattached padded headboard. The window had a nice sill my cat throughly enjoyed, with a pond rimmed-with-trees view. Big tv with a fairly easy to figure out remote. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, a nice variety, and the Scramblers restaurant attached is a yummy alternative. Didn’t use the pool this time. Parking is ample and free. Location convenient. Love staying here at “the Castle”.

The pool and hot tub were amazing.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic! I enjoyed the pool but the area there was not clean including the hot tub.

Rooms are updated except for the carpet. Place looks very dated, and can be noisy on certain floors (like with the pool. But all in all a good place to stay for the money.

THE GOOD: Staff was very nice, the breakfast was FANTASTIC (the best daily breakfast options we have had in a LONG time at a hotel), and the price for the stay was definitely worth it. The shower worked well (which is actually a pretty big deal these days at hotels), and the TV and remote worked (also an underrated big deal these days at hotels). THE BAD: I almost don't want to call these "bad," as they are just things that weren't great. It's an old building. The room hallway by the pool ("Brittany" hallway) has an older, musty smell. It's not terrible. It's just... old. The pool area was nice and fun, but they have a drainage issue there, as there is a lot of standing water by both the pool and the hot tub. It's very wet around both. Our room door also took a lot of jiggling and pushing to get into once the key went green. The carpets all feel old and could probably use a massive professional cleaning (or new carpets) - think of an older Vegas casino and what the carpets are like. Again, none of these things were "bad," per se, as much as they could be improved. THE UGLY: Nothing was terrible. OVERALL: I always ask "Could I live here if I had to?" No. I don't love the lighting in the rooms. But would we stay here again? Absolutely, we will. It's a value for Bloomington. Also, be sure to eat the breakfast!

The room I stayed in (superior king studio) was very clean and nicely updated. It had extras like two lighted mirrors, a large desk and comfortable gaming style office chair with foot rest and two large flat screens. The kitchenette has a good sized fridge freezer combo, microwave and a flat top two burner range. There were also utensils and table wear for 3, and a few pots and pans. I wish it had a better quality coffee pot however the lobby has free self serve coffee all day. I would stay here again. Pool and hot tub were nice. Great lighting from outside. It’s also nice that the sauna is located in the locker room so it’s separated by male and female. The female one was really difficult to operate because the knob was broken. Otherwise an overall great experience!

Older property that's trying to come back.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The room was clean and nice. Staff was very helpful. We had an issue with our tv and staff was able to help. Pool was really nice. Hot tub looked a little dirty like it needed a cleaning

    i love this place

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

We didn’t stay long so we didn’t get to enjoy much of the property but it was a nice stay. Staff were nice.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Would have been nice to know that part at the point of check-in but the desk person failed to mention this. After two nights of walking to the front desk to get new towels and shampoo, we've decided to move on. Grew up in this town and this place used to be the top place to stay but not the case anymore sadly. You truly get what you pay for here so keep that in mind. Edit: When we went to check out, their system showed that we were never there. This could very well explain why we didn't have house keeping. Again, the service just wasn't up to speed and you can be your own judge.
