DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis Airport, MN

The beds & Pillows were so comfortable (had nothing to do with being exhausted amd stressed) the pillows were awesome. The air conditioner however was louder than my grandfathers snoring... How could Hilton allow this room to be rented out due to the loud clunky 1970s air conditioner. It does not match up to Hilton's standards. The air conditioner woke me up constantly. The hotel is old and the layout is confusing. It was difficult to find our rooms as they layout and hallway maps were not easy to read. Yes I was tired and yes English is my primary language, but considerable timr was wasted finding B236 in the hotel. The Cookies were delicious.

Had to wait a while to check in late night but a nice woman who has been working there for some time gave me cookies while i waited. It appeared they were understaffed but working hard to maintain the Hilton tradition. And i might add they got a lot of patrons from MSP whose flights were cancelled that night.

Never in my life have I been into my hotel room from the airport so quickly and efficiently. As soon as I exited the plane, I called for a shuttle and by the time I made it to the exit, the shuttle was there, waiting for me. I didn’t check luggage so it was even quicker but I was checked into my room and settling in for the night in under 30 minutes. What a relief following a trans-Atlantic flight.

I liked the cleanliness and layout of the facility as well as the built in restaurant. I have a minor complaint about the TV in my room not functioning, but that encouraged me to explore the hotel and surrounding area instead of staying in my room.

They gave us the wrong room key for the room and then they gave me a room with someone in the room and it was unbelievable and then they gave us a room that was not clean there was hair on the ceiling in the bathroom and that was bad then let alone I slipped on the floor in the bathroom cause it was really slippery and don't know why its was just bad all around thanks to the shut down on there computers.

Overall the place was awesome! Downside No microwave in the room, but there was one in the lobby. Not a bad thing just inconvenient personally, not everyone needs one in the room. There was plenty of parking. We didn't use the pool or gym, had events to go to so we didn't have time. King size bed was very very nice, sheets were nice and fluffy pillows too, very very nice I loved it! Staff was very helpful with questions.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. I appreciated the availability of the shuttle. A few things I would recommend updating or changing: the availability of a hot tub by the pool (it appeared there use to be one but now was gone, however, the pool was nice and fresh towels were abailable each time we went), microwaves (there was a shared microwave in the lobby, but it was being shared with many and required a long wait to heat up our popcorn and left overs over the two days we were there, and was a walk to heat up food), the restaurant was convenient, and my daughters liked there food but my soup tasted like it came from a can and the bartender was very loud yelling across the restaurant about his weekend plans and made my daughters uncomfortable.

When I went down in the morning to ask a question same man in the suit was extremely rude. (That was around 5:20am)

Wifi did not work unless I propped door open. Far east side rm.5001. Beer was 8.50 a can. Gnats flying around my seat at the bar. For 190 no continental breakfast. Doors were old paneling style. Place just looks old. The staff was super nice bout only good thing
