Courtyard by Marriott Rapid City

We had a fabulous stay here. The room was quite spacious and clean, and having access to the water park was great!

I know that Marriott upgraded us to a nicer room, but the staff took almost half and hour checking us in. They said it was a new system and because we had booked through Expedia the price we paid was lower than the room promised. So I think they were waiting for the room with the worst view to be cleaned before they gave us the room. Normally, I would have booked through BonVoy, but Expedia had a package of Air and Hotel which was hard to pass up. I have never stood in the lobby for so long to check in. They apologized that the system was new, but they did try to accomodate us by offering a beverage while we waited. In addition the parking for that hotel was one of the worst arrangements I have had. You were given a pass to put into the window and told to find a space which was shared with another hotel and themed activity center. One of the nights I had to circle around two lots and areas away from the hotel to find a space. Overall, it was very disappointing.

This is our hotel of choice in Rapid City. Very well maintained. Friendly staff.

From checking to checking out the staff were very helpful and kind! Needed a pack and play and they had it ready for us when checking in. Breakfast burrito and coffee were amazing the next morning!! Room was very clean!

- Great customer service by the staff. - Convenient to have the bistro in the lobby and Starbucks items offered onsite (and next door). - One free snack daily. - Nice fitness center and water bottle refill station. - Washer/dryer accessible onsite for your laundry. Cons: - Thin walls - Adjoining rooms are loud - did not sleep well. - Moved to another room that had mold in the bathroom and still loud. - $9 parking/ day. - You’ll hear loud rushing water in the pipes above your bed. - A bit far from most of the attractions. Third room was great - closer to the elevator/ no adjoining room. Exceptional staff all around. The property itself needs work.

Price was too high. Not many amenities, Our bathroom was lacking many of the things you would expect such as lotion? Hand soap? We had to pay for parking and was not told that prior to arriving. We had just stayed in another hotel in Custer and they had plenty of extras, Including a beautiful breakfast and the cost of this nice hotel was far less and better.

My time at Courtyard was very pleasant.The staff were very friendly and professional. It was clean, quiet and easy to find; quick access to the interstate, also. I'd stay again.

Restaurant was convenient. The beds were hard. I had back problems every morning. Our trash was taken put twice and when we came back one afternoon, our room door was open. Luckily, nothing was stolen but that won't be the case if it happens again to someone else. Also, one time when they came to take towels, they left a whole pile by the bathroom and we also had to ask for more towels.

I loved the layout of the room, esp. the bathroom. Towels were easy to reach from the shower. I also liked the main room. Having the couch plus a chair at the table is so helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The A/C worked and was quiet. The Bistro was nice and we enjoyed that on the second morning, using our savings coupon. Even though the Bistro was available, we were used to having breakfast included. That's just a minor issue!

Dinner at the restaurant was not good that’s being nice

The hotel looks fancy. However you are charged for everything including parking. The discounts don’t even cover the cost of parking. The beds are harder than a rock. The water pressure in the shower is a slow stream. It is like staying at a fancy Super 8.

Didn't eat breakfast, the coffee bar was good. Room was excellent.

Was a descent stay but my only gripe is why do we have to pay for parking at a hotel that I’m renting?

I don’t travel much but I was shocked that parking was 9.00 I had questions about the price they quoted me, I booked it at hotel.com Never again!!! They said it was 230.00 for one night and I booked for 107.00 the girl reassured me it was correct. You pay for breakfast at the bistro, you pay for coffee, so many extra items that if you didn’t know about you could really run up a bill The bathroom sink ran all night, we got up several times to adjust the handle. We were on the 2 nd floor and I have no idea if it was the toilet being flushed or what but it sounded like it was a fountain coming down on us You could even hear there coffee pot perking. I don’t like to complain but it said pool it was a splash pool with wristbands outside the hotel area, we were planning on leaving around 9 but all the noises woke us up around 6:30
