Carlsbad By The Sea Hotel

Check-in took over 10 minutes per person. So 40 minutes of my day was wasted waiting to check-in instead of enjoying SD. When I finally got to my room the door was already open with the deadlock extended keeping it from shutting. I check the room and it was normal and staff had no explanation. Then it was located on the freeway side that was so loud it could be heard over my TV in a closed room. Bathroom sink only had hot water whether setting it was on. Overall a nice hotel but so many negatives I will never stay here again. Overpriced for the frustration.

Bad experience and would not stay there again. Had to waste my time asking that the room be cleaned. The air conditioner was so noisy everytime it went on. Staff was friendly but very slow in taking care of matters.

Our door didnt lock. The latch didnt actually catch on the door. The door frame was installed wrong and the actual handle latch was lower than the frame. We called maintenance and they put a screw in the door frame to just push it down so the door would catch. They said it should work now... We checked out because we didn't feel safe in a room with a single screw being the difference between someone pushing the door open and being secure. We also found in one of our beds dry rice which was wierd. I assume it was from the Panda Express across the street at the outlets, but either way showed the sheets weren't clean. Would not recommend at all.

Great Hotel recently renovated, the pool area is beautiful.

Loved that it was close to Legoland

There’s no power to the microwave, fridge, or TV. Outlet s were not working either except for the one in the bathroom. We notify the staff but they provided no help to resolve the situation.

Honestly expected way better. Rooms look clean when walking in but bugs were found in closet. ROACHES! was the wildest part. If it wasnt for the nice kid at the front when we went to complain being understanding of our issues this would have been a big fat 0 star! The paint looks fresh bt then when in the shower u notice the crap that was left behind and ceiling telling u another story. We found a roach in our room and a HUGE roach outside. Im sorry but this was far what the expectations could be

Hay mucho ruido porque no es un hotel "cerrado" sino que da al freeway. Las habitaciones literalmente están enseguida de la calle.

Everything was under construction, it’s loud, hard to fun anything, the food options were horrible. The lights didn’t all work, the plugs didn’t all work.

A few downside were our room was on the highway side and there was a constant hum. The resort was undergoing renovations, so parking was not super convenient and at the time the guest laundry was closed. Housekeeping does not come everyday, which is totally understandable, but the floors were obviously not swept or vacuumed well. we could feel crumbs/dirt on parts and could see cobwebs and dust bunnies near corners. Also, a bit frustrating, we chose this hotel with the understanding that it had a free shuttle to Legoland. However, a few days before the trip I looked on the hotels website and it listed that they no longer offered a shuttle. Not sure if the inaccuracy is hotels.com fault of the hotel itself.

Northing The hotel was under construction and it was not disclosed on their website. The clerk informed us that the manager of the hotel decided not to disclose the information. The construction was next door to our room, and it was loud and noisy and woke us up in the morning. The room was very dirty. We checked out early and did not extend our stay.

Newly renovated rooms were nice and comfortable. Other updates were happening around the property but it did not impact our experience. The staff was great and the location was excellent. Will definitely stay again.

Good location Was staying during mid renovation , the heater in the room didn’t work at all 60 degrees entire night, also the room wasn’t deep cleaned after renovation.

We traveled with elderly, adults and children.
