Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel, Carlsbad, Series By Marriott

Stay was great. It was clean and very close to food and shopping in walking distance. Beautiful weather this time of the year.

It says hotel but it’s motel, the pool was very old n dirty. Fly n mosquitoes was in my room i couldn’t sleep all night.

It was a really clean room and great access to the community area.

The room was clean but the floor was dirty as if it hadn’t been swept. When we walked in the sliding room on the first floor was fully opened. It was under construction during the time of our stay. That might have been the issue. Maybe understaffed.

Property was being renovated when we stayed there, but we still enjoyed our stay. It’s close to Legoland and has a good variety of food options nearby.

The hotel is situated in a nice area between everything, the staff were friendly and helpful, if stating here thought stay on the opposite end of the freeway side, also the air conditioning is very loud when it comes on. Otherwise rooms are clean and plenty of parking

The woman was pleasant to interact with From the get go checking in, the front desk employee seemed only interested in processing our arrival as quickly as possible and moving us out - he spoke rapid fire and into the computer screen making it difficult to understand - in the rush to process us he failed to provide information such as WiFi information - a map that was a xerox copy and was illegible - with respect to the room, it was obvious it did not meet the standards of a $300 a night room - amenities were non existent - cheap plastic cups - shower that leaked to the extent of requiring towels to keep the water from running out of the bathroom - beds that were so soft it was not possible to sleep for an extended period without back pain - a single uncomfortable plastic chair - poor lighting- no where to set suitcases except the floor

The bed was comfortable. We were given an ADA room for some reason. It was sterile and the bathroom was still wet from being cleaned. We could hear airplanes clearly and breakfast food was stale.

had problems with ants in our room staff address the problem the first day and sprayed around the sink area, but had to come back the following day to spray in the shower area and we had them spray the whole room with insecticide other than that, we’re disappointed that the room did not have a coffee pot and other amenities that were used to

I loved our stay at the Carlsbad by the sea Hotel. My focus was the pool and jacuzzi. Both were warm, clean and safe. We were in Room #222 but the walk to the pool area was quick. Plenty of pool-side towelsBreakfast was excellent and well managed. Lobby staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had been recently renovated and the king bed was so comfortable!

This was not the level of cleanliness I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Given the brand’s reputation, I expected much better.
