Extended Stay America Suites Carlsbad Village by the Sea

We stayed on 4th of July weekend and had planned to go to the pool after being at the beach. When we went down to the lobby to ask for towels, the worker said the pool is closed for maintenance. We understand this happens at hotels, but the weekend of the 4th for their pool to be closed without any notice or disclosure to guests at booking, completely baffled us and was so disappointing. Later, my husband went to the lobby again to ask for shampoo and conditioner since there was not any in our room. The worker then gave him 1 small bottle of shampoo and stated that’s all that they had because it had been on back order. We had ourselves and our 2 children to bathe after a long day at the beach. The TV in our room also did not work. It was if the TV was buffering when watching shows. Would definitely not recommend staying at this place ESPECIALLY if you have young kids.

Don't stay here! Pool has been shut down for over a month by the city but the property didn't mention it while booking. Shampoo was on back order so no shampoo or conditioner. I was lucky to have 1 bar of soap. "Breakfast on the Go" is an understatement. Only coffee and maybe nutrigrain bars, oatmeal and that's it! No fruit what so ever. The vent in the bathroom rattled very loud and was irritating! Our TV didn't even work for half the trip! The first 3 workers I told didn't do anything about it. Kiera was the only helpful person, she came to us and asked about it and found a HDMI cable to fix it! I will never stay at one of these properties again! Whoever runs the property is CHEAP! Closed pool, no shampoo, conditioner, broken TV all on a 4th of July weekend! I felt like I was ripped off for the price paid and lack of amenities!

The hotel is convenient while visiting Legoland. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our refrigerator was not turned on when we arrived.

Breakfast hours should be extended, better selection on meals. no ice machine on the property? Other than that our stay was just amazing.

The hotel was clean and quiet

This hotel didn't have anything as stated in their description. The tub leaked, the bathroom facet was loose, and we had to ask for tools and shampoo. Our feet were black from walking on the floor. To get clean towels we had to give them towels to get clean ones. The pool is under repair and not available.

Nothing No maid service at all. Hallway full of clumps of dog hair. Breakfast advertised, but packets of oatmeal..no milk..no bowls, grab and go as they called it.muffins and nutribars, but no place to eat them so they had to be brought to the room…we all ate elsewhere. Elevator had trash from day 1. No shampoo or cream rinse sample bottles…no coffee pot…but u can order one, but no coffee pods or filters as other hotels. No hair dryer… no clock in the room. Noisy people upstairs stamping their feet and kids running the hallways late at night. Worst place we ever stayed

As soon as we walked into the room we see roaches, by the bed and bathroom. So we checked out right away.

We have to request many times the utensils for kitchen. Wait more than 1 day to get them. Before our check out no hot water and no answer when hot water will be available

Air conditioner broken. Maintenance gone home for the day. Pool closed. 1st floor smelled like urine. Loud freeway noise, the hotel was extremely close to the freeway. Breakfast was barely warm coffee and instant oatmeal.

Nothing, smells as soon as you walk in. Found hair in my bed and in the restroom. Also dead bugs near ac vent. Also spiders on the ceiling. But that’s all.
