Scandia Motel

Very small rooms. Fair amount of street noise. School next door does band practice in the morning. Old noisy air conditioner. Bathroom was nice. Bed was clean. Convenient area, lots nearby. Price was cheap.

It's so hot out now having ice and A/C is a blessing. The handicapnroom shower is great. Plenty of room and a seat.

I'm happy for a fridge, ice and a microwave oven. Some motels don't let you have those and the TV works great with the remote they provide at check in.

It’s all about location and this has it. Walking to village is the best, it’s a motel could use some work but we came to be walking distance and that is great! We had larger room which was great size. We prefer 2 queen beds but doubles are standard in lots of chains.would probably use again!

Urine around toilet red dirt rings around the bed... looked like a hotel in India

Having a kitchenette was nice.

Its a decent place for 1 night. No longer ..

Don't let that stop you and save money to go shopping and out to eat! Amazing vintage location, and we will be back!

The motel is in a great location for visiting Carlsbad. You can walk to beach or into town. We visited Legoland, the mission, the beach, and Leo Carrillo Historic Park. The room was spacious. Parking was good. Full size fridge, good channels on TV. I wish that there had been Kleenex, hand soap, and conditioner. Best to bring your own stuff for this place. Bedspread had a hole and stained. Ants in the bathroom. Some of the items in the room looked old. Patches on the wall. Place probably needs to be updated.

Great location by downtown Carlsbad and Oceanside. Can hear traffic noise if noisy car drives by and next door neighbor if they're noisy but otherwise is quiet. Good price for the location. Single story worked out since we had bikes. No sink in kitchen area so used nearby bathroom sink but nice having fridge and microwave. Bathroom only has toilet and shower. Will return.
