Young man very unhelpful. Made us directly aware you would have to get own linens.

Such a find so close to town! We walked everywhere and loved the bedroom we stayed in!

*We checked out the Vigilucci’s Seafood and Steakhouse. We drive by it all the time as we live in Leucadia. The service was aggressive and dismissive. The food was unseasoned, seafood rubbery and fishy. The baked potato was literally raw inside, and when I asked for butter when I was finally able to get someone, they brought me about two sticks worh in a trough. It felt like an f@?! you for trying to make the food better. The view was fantastic. We are both service industry and still took care of them, but I recommend literally any other place to eat for the price they charge there. *We’ve been to Don’s Country Kitchen in Oceanside, but not in Carlsbad before. Breakfast was phenomenal with giant portions and great service. It was exactly what you want for the homestyle diner feel! The property was perfect and relaxing and they were very available if needed.

This was a beautiful room with the most comfortable bed

Coffee tea and breakfast snacks in the lobby daily. Room was very clean. Chairs umbrellas beach towels provided free of charge. Great location. AC in the room would have been nice but fans were provided. I did notice portable units in some room windows but evenings cooled substantially so fans worked well.

Room is huge. Property is cute. There was an awful smell in the room. I texted and emailed several times and no one ever answered. Afterwards I received an text asking how my stay was... All automated, no human involved. Also, there is an electric car charger. Don't use it! It killed the battery of my rental car, and I had to spend my vacation morning waiting for a jump...

What a great room for the family! The grounds are pretty with unique plants. There’s no pool but it’s one street to the beach. The hotel has sand buckets and folding chairs to use. On Wed evenings there’s a street market two blocks away. Great restaurants everywhere. I loved the clean, fresh-smelling pillows and sheets.

One night stay in the Newport room. Nice quiet property in a good location. Room was clean & comfortable. Check-in was easy & not seeing any staff was not a problem. Room was warm and a little musty smelling upon 1st entering at 8p, the provided fans were needed. Queen bed was soft and bouncier than our preference.

We where eaten by ants the whole night

Stayed in the Pacific room. Each room is uniquely themed, and ours was beautiful. The spa bath was incredible. Bed was comfy and the overall room feels like a home instead of a temporary stay. Price is unbeatable for the location if visiting for the beach/downtown. Free beach chairs/umbrellas are offered for use. Despite being a bit dated and some quirky issues, nothing dealbreaking for us. Will be returning. Parking was tight. Only ever used roadside areas. A few of the doors are closely together reducing the privacy of entering/exiting. A bit "dated" and has its quirks.

Price was overrated for a last minute booking, but it was also Memorial day weekend. We were on a road bike trip along the coast and booked the room on the same day, requesting a floor room with easy bike access. We arrived 1 hour after the check in time and found our room was on the second floor and not ready. Fortunately the cleaning lady was on site but said she wasn't informed of our arrival. She promptly gave priority to get the room ready for us and that was much appreciated!

I loved the stay here at the Pelican Cove Inn. It was so peaceful and relaxing and a 5 minute walk to the beach and Downtown Carlsbad. If you are looking for a quiet, private stay close to the beach and city fun this is the perfect location for you.

The location was excellent. It was close to walk to many plces. The room was not what we expected. There was not a balcony, it was a walkway. The fireplace did not work properly. There wasn't a place to hang clothes or a mirror that was not in the restroom.

Wonderful cozy bed, interesting antique furniture but very comfortable, spacious room, very convenient to be able to keypad easily into the room. Appreciated that staff took initiaitive to bring me a ironing board after i had asked to make sure there was an iron available. On Saturday afternoon i couldn't reach manager by phone, just could leave voice mail with no call back.
