Motel 6 Carlsbad, CA Beach

I will give credit for the shower in the room I stayed in. Good shower pressure and plenty of hot water.

I was disappointed. I went online and saw pictures and thought it might have justified the price of $284 for a room even though it was a no frills motel room, but it did not. The room smelled clean but was not clean. The floor was filthy, I didn’t let my kids take their shoes off until they were on the bed. There was one bar of fragrance free soap, no shampoo/conditioner, two towels for four people, hair in the bathtub and sink. Mold on the ceiling, and calcified/rotting fixtures in the tub. There was a large stain on the bed blanket that was covered by a sheet (who knows what it was), and sand in my kids bed (we were not at the beach that trip). The room next door my parents stayed in had no filter grate on and a crooked TV. There were homeless people roaming the halls or drug attics sleeping on the stairs. The pool was murky and gross, and there was a man slanging pizzas in the parking lot. The staff was helpful during check in, but was not able to provide additional blankets when requested. The air conditioning was either freezing or off, no in between. The police were patrolling the parking lot and said “we are here often” when I asked if it was a safe place to stay alone with my kids. The room down by the lobby to get ice smelled like sulpher (rotten eggs) and had a limited selection. I would’ve expected all of this from a $49 room, not for what we paid to be “close” to Legoland. I will not be staying here again.

Front desk young lady was amazing. She had line braids and braces . African American younger. She was awesome!! Everything else absolutely horrific. Invested with roaches. Disgusting floors. I didn’t feel safe touching anything in the room. Rather sleep in my car. Disgusting! Needs to close down and disinfect everything. Needs better cleaning staff. All they do is change the bedding and sweep. The bedding even had black stains. Second room we moved into because we were placed in the wrong room the first time. Second room Smelled like straight alcohol and cigarettes. Smoked stains on the sheets. Horrific dirty floors. A blind person could see how dirty and unsanitary everything in that room is. Disturbed is an understatement!

The AC did not work and you can hear screaming in the hallways in the middle of the night

Location and price It was kinda dirty. It didn't seem like they vacuumed. Certainly didn't seem like they mopped. The bathtub/shower combo- the bottom of the bathtub was SUPER warped. It seems like it fell of a truck on the freeway and it got ran over and they still installed it.

Pool is nice. Sheets were stained. Sink was clogged. Bugs in the room.

Guilty for putting my girls through that health hazard. I brought this up to the front desk and options were almost none for what we needed. Stayed two nights, luckily the second night we were switched but the whole ordeal interrupted our vacation. Do better

The night manager was very unfriendly. Would not wife check in for couple because her name was not on reservation, then demanded ID so to have "every adult" in the party registered. Bathroom had cockroach. Facilities quite worn. Towels were thinner than my dish towels and just a bit bigger. One towel was dirty. Only one washcloth. No complimentary shampoo or lotion. We were going to stay 3 days, but left the next morning.

Nothing. Horrible motel. Cleanliness of room. Smelled like urine. Bed sheets seemed like they weren’t washed, like somebody just slept in them. Bathroom was filthy. Towels hard and scratchy. No condiments like shampoo. Thanks to Kiki the manager for at less giving me a discount on my second night. She must be used to that. Hire better housekeepers.

Not very clean property. Expensive for what you get.

Threadbare towels with a strange sticky substance all over. There were large groups of people staying together in very small rooms, rap music banging from multiple locations, people sitting on stairs and lounging all over the railings. There was strong odor of feces in the vending machine room. Better off sleeping in the car. Steer clear of this place. The staff were very nice and they were competent

The room she gave us was not clean yet The new room have cockroaches definitely not recommended don’t waste your time and money there

Locations was close to Legoland Temperature of room was comfortable. Bed was as hard as a rock.

Great Location and friendly staff. Need new mattresses they were old and lumpy. Need to pressure wash grounds/walk ways at least once a week. Needs mini fridge. Need to sweep/skim pool daily.

They clearly have homeless vouchers and I was refused service because of my service dog I need a refund asap we stayed there one night before. Was yelled at by staff after someone’s dog attacked another and then the staff yelled at my service medical animal. Horrible staff
