The bed is very soft. The coffee maker is not a good quality. The cost per night was a bit higher considering the quality. The good point about it, is for being in walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
-
The room was furnished with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and was quite comfortable.

Nice and convenient place to stay
-
Good location, but the property is pretty dated and rooms could have been cleaner.

The rooms and their furnishings are beautiful and whimsical! Everything within Carmel is walking distance from the hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only two downsides were the small/tight parking lot, (but there was lots of street parking available at night), and that the hot tub was closed when we went (June 2026).

Shabby Chic antique filled spacious room was lovely. Bathtub super welcoming for warming after being out in typical Monterey Bay temps with chilly sea breeze.
-
The room was spacious and although we did not have a pull out couch we were able to sleep three in the room. Great location and views.

Fair to poor value for the fee. It was a last minute rez on a holiday weekend so I was grateful to obtain in popular Carmel. Parking advertised but spots are limited, first come first serve. I had to street park & walk at night. Uncomfortable for a woman. The view from the bedroom was a dirty narrow walkway. Unattractive dilapidated closed pool. Not a hotel for romance. In fairness: clean bathroom, linens, kitchenette. Great proximity to Ocean Avenue.

Charming suite, responsive staff, very clean room. The guests next to us checked in at 11 pm and were loud until midnight when we called the front desk.

Stinks like musty old people and wayyyyy overpriced

1/2 block to a great Deli 1 block to a park The pool is not in use Front desk employee couldn't answer any questions about the town

This was such a cute room and a great location. Just a few minute walk from the downtown where all the shops and restaurants are. The only thing was our room was connected to another room with a door (that was locked) but we could hear the other person on the phone pretty clearly. Other than that, the stay was great and really great for a couples trip.

Unfortunately, the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress felt as though it was mostly springs with no cushioning, and I could feel them pressing into my back throughout the night. It made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep and was disappointing.

Great location! Great staff! Great clean pretty rooms with extremely comfy mattress, pillow and bedding!!!!! Harry is awesome in the office!!!!! We will always stay here when visiting Carmel!!

The location to town is super. It’s very sad that they don’t take care of the anything!! I would not recommend this place for anyone. I am happy that my family has a great sense of humor. There have been many changes of places closing down or being sold off to be renovated to high end hotel like the Carmel Lodge. Don’t stay here it’s not worth the cost and the owners obviously don’t care about service or quality.

The room wasn’t very poor condition missing wood from cabinetry doors in cabinets that don’t shut. Carpet has stains all over it. The chair by the desk area has material completely missing from the entire chair. The location of the property is great. The room needs updated extremely urgently not clean. We didn’t even wanna walk on the carpet we had to wear our socks. Needs a lot of work.

Firstly, I'd like to applaud management for accommodating me. I accidentally booked two days earlier than needed and they honored my booking for the real dates.. Albeit I paid more for the Friday but it was worth it. The room was great, quiet and clean. The down side was the bed (for us) hard as a floor (but doable for 2 nights). Also, I look forward to coffee in the am and there was a coffee machine in the room but no creamer... The rather loud fridge could have had some creamer which would have been a lovely touch. The cleaning service came and did a lovely job, I wasn't expecting it for a two day stay... nice bonus.

I really like this hotel friendly clean and reasonable and love the vintage feel

First the good stuff. The staff were friendly and everything was clean. The parking was easy and the location very nice. Those are the major things to me however, the room was tiny and furniture huge. I left with a huge bruise on my thigh hitting it on the bed post. The floors were torn up causing me to stumble a bit. The pool was torn up and the outside area run down and dated.
