Everything was pretty good, breakfast was solid and decently fresh

I really appreciate the shuttle driver Cookie who just absolutely made my day. Jeff at the front desk helped with a couple things in the room! Even the breakfast buffet was great!

The pool is indefinitely closed, but not disclosed to booking customers. Room was clean, but had high humidity. Breakfast was very good and parking was covered and close.

The hotel was sooooo out dated and not as clean as the pictures. Marriott definitely needs to give this hotel a lot of attention.

Raymond at the front desk was very helpful and kind with all interactions. The room was clean, the tub was clean, the bed was very comfy. There is a laundry room with two washers and two dryers. Parking was easy, inside a garage. I opted for the breakfast and it was very good, with many options. There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the steak frites. Negatives: I was on the 6th floor and the hallway carpet had bumps and buckles in it, so you had to pick up your feet when walking. Parts of the hotel showed aging, well worn areas. The rooms have balconies, but there are locked bars keeping you from going out on the balcony - the sliding glass door only opened a couple of inches and the windows were very dirty. I had to reach my arm out to clean a small portion so I could take a photo. My view was of an abandoned lot across the street. In Conclusion: I would stay here again for sure because of the location, the staff, the ease of getting in and out, and the comfortable room.

Hotel stay was excellent, Ray at the front desk was very helpful and personable.

I’ve known this hotel since I was a kid in the 80s. It used to be the premier hotel in Charleston, and maybe it still is just because there isn’t much else. But it’s disappointing how little has been updated or improved since that era. My room key barely worked at all the entire weekend. I had to go to the front desk literally every single time I wanted to get into my room and get a new key. The garage gate wasn’t working properly, anyone could park in there, but the hotel still charged me $30 for two nights of parking. Not sure how they even knew I was in there. The breakfast buffet was still nice, always has been. Good service and good enough food. The staff were friendly and helpful. Just too bad they haven’t invested in modernizing the place, the keycard thing would be fairly easy to fix in particular and would eliminate all of that frustration and work for the people at the front desk.

Location is nice I just wish they would beautify the area . The view is of the old mall and the balcony doesn’t open . My room was 63 degrees all night and I was freezing . You can not turn the heat on and fix the issue either cause it’s a boiler system . This is the second time it happened but I stay there because compared to many other Charleston hotels this is the better . Pick your favorite old hotel . Most are old and in need of renovation . They are renovating this one thankfully . The parking garage is not great and doesn’t look secure and you have to pay for parking 15 a day. They finally were able to get the cigeratte smell out of the elevator . This time it didn’t stink .

Leading to my room 411. Because the carpet ơn the hallways are not flat anymore. It’s crooked and raised and uneven. Very bad for elders. The breakfast was not bad. I don’t eat bacon and thất was the only protein choice ơn the 2 days I came down out of the 5 days I was there. They maintain our trash even when we told them we didn’t want room clean so that was a plus. The staff was very helpful anout everything. Even letting us eat in the lobby when we had a gymnastics get together.

Great location to visit Charleston.
-
The property was ok… it was a dated facility that showed its wear and tear. The staff was very friendly and helped how they could. The are where the hotel is leaves little to be desired as well.
-
Updates needed for sticky doors and loose outlets/ports. Overall 4/5
-
Didn't get my room cleaned for 5 days straight (was at least expecting new fresh towels)
-
The staff was friendly and helpful. As a kid we stayed here on special occasions and it was fancy, clean and just a wonderful stay every time. This stay many years later was a let down in that it was run down, worn out from the floor to the elevators. Very disappointing.
-
But the room, food, drinks and staff were exceptional.
-
Was only there one night so I didn’t get to use all of the provided ammenities. Liked the location as it was within walking distance to local bars and restaurants. Security in parking garage area. There were no cameras providing security for the vehicles.
-
This is the second stay where there were children travel teams staying left unsupervised in their rooms running up and down shouting slamming doors. Until well after. midnight.

Todo está bien, un poco vieja las instrucciones y las ventas muy sucias

convenience First of all, for this to be a Marriott, I expected a lot more. There was no microwave. The walls had some type of dirty dripping on it. There were pubic hairs in the tube. They charge for breakfast. They charge for parking. I understand it's Charleston, West Virginia, and I didn't expect a one like I would in Charlotte, but for a Marriott, I don't care what city it's in. It should look a lot better, especially for what I paid. I would never stay they're again, I would probably say, at the embassy, they gotta be better than this. The entrance was fine.It looked very nice, but the rooms are very outdated.

It was closed to the city center and restaurants. Parking garage was easy to access and safe. The TV didn’t work correctly, no soap in the shower and needed some updating.
