Holiday Inn Express Charleston-Civic Center by IHG

Working staff all very nice. See no management anywhere. Overpriced relative to nearby hotels in better locations

My only problem with the property is that it wasn’t very clean - our bedroom’s AC was full of mold, the bedroom smelled damp, and the shower also had some moldy spots.

Passing through stay, floor was damp from carpet shampooing earlier in the day.. so clean, okay. One bed had a stain on the sheet- front desk immediately came up and changed it no hesitation. Elevators were HOT, hallways were HOT.. however the previous hotel was the same way not the same chain. Staff was friendly. Floors and walls were not exceptionally clean but was okay. Breakfast was very good. Centrally located and easy to walk around town & perfect location for highway stop.

The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. The parking lot felt sketchy with people hanging out or driving around looking at the parked cars.

Room was spacious and clean, location was convenient. But, my only complaint, was it was a hot day, so the building was super hot and so was the room. It took a while to cool down.

Nice location

I stayed 10 days and I was so impressed with the efficiency of the staff and the kindness they showed. My room was clean and neat as well as the hotel was well maintained. I will never stay at another hotel in Charleston other than the Holiday Inn express.

The staff were great, hotel was clean. However, didnt like that we had to pay to park there 10$ a night. Beds were not comfortable.

I felt like a bother checking in and there were cockroaches in the hallway.

Located at the end of Kanawha Blvd across from Convention Center. Easy access to highway, about a half-mile from the start of city center.

Quiet. Good breakfast! Great coffee. Lights next to the bed and clock didn’t work.

Overall, we had a good stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the included breakfast offered plenty of choices. The hotel was hopping during our stay, but we enjoyed a quiet night. The additional charge for parking caught me by surprise, particularly given that the room rate was already on the high side.

AC wasn’t working right and the room had a foul odor.
