Embassy Suites Charleston

Parking was very difficult and valets were not on hand for a long while. A (false) fire alarm around 1:00am meant we got little sleep. There were no staff on hand to tell us what was going on and we were left to decide on our own when to go back to our rooms. There was no attempt to give us a break on the cost of the room which, given the little sleep we got, would have at least recognized that hotel had not fulfilled its basic role - a good night's sleep. This Hilton was not "for the stay"!

The rooms were very nice, and very clean! The staff were all so kind, a wonderful complimentary breakfast, and the rooms and beds were very cozy and comfortable! The only complaint we had was the elevators. 2/3 elevators were down, which things happen and that’s okay! But it turns out one elevator has been down for over a year, and the other had been down for 7 months. This is an incredibly busy hotel and it would turn to a 15-20 minute wait every time we had to change floors. This is not a reflection on staff but more on the owners who are not taking care of the property. It was very sad watching cleaning staff struggle to get everything done due to the elevators. They definitely need raises, they are working so incredibly hard.

Was a nice and somewhat clean (A view questionable stains on the couch and bedspread) Also they have 3 elevators but only one was in service which became a huge inconvenience since the hotel was packed. Had to use the stairs 3x after waiting almost 30 min for elevator during breakfast service. I was on the 5th floor so def got my steps in.

A little frustrating as 2 of the 3 elevators were out of order. Had to valet park or pay for parking in a lot. Didn't realize that when booking - make sure you check. Still a very nice place to stay

The parking is horrible. Across the street from the hotel. The hotel had only one working elevator for visitors. It takes 15 to twenty minutes to access your room if you use the elevator. Constantly had to walk four flights of stairs to access the room. Taking the stairs was quicker than using the elevator. Room key card constantly stopped opening room door and constantly had to be reprogrammed. Staff is not very helpful at this location.

Other than that, we enjoyed our visit.

Overall it was a disappointment. I would choose elsewhere next time in that area.

Everything about our stay was wonderful with one exception. They were hosting a wedding, a family, reunion, and overnight guests for a concert. The hotel has 3 elevators to move their patrons over many levels. Only 1 elevator was working. It was frustrating to hike 5 floors. The staff was beyond kind and helpful. Our room was beautiful. The bar experience was gracious and knowledgeable and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay again and recommend this establishment.

Clean, beautiful Parking, one elevator, room not cleaned daily

The property is dated. The furniture in my room had obviously seen better days. One chair at the dining table was ripped and one of the foot stools at the couch had a wheel broken off. The bathtub was very visibly stained.

They have 3 elevators and only 1 works. It’s been like this for a year. They need to do better.

First of all, we’ve stayed here several times since our son’s family live in Charleston. At check in Thursday night all elevators were down and an employee ushered us back to the service elevator. Let’s just say that look was not expected. Only one elevator was available our entire stay. Our bathroom had brackets for a towel rack but didn’t have one. Back of the door also had a broken towel holder. Remnants of room service was left at elevator for more than 24 hours. We weren’t made aware of the newly relocated parking garage and my husband got stuck in the previous garage and had to wait for an attendant. Several cars behind him were not happy. We love the hotel but it definitely has several areas for improvement.

Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and we had drinks at the bar. All the staff was very friendly and helpful.

How close it is to the downtown area. Nothing. Overall a great place.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms were very large and spacious. Nice location to coliseum There are only 3 elevators but tons of rooms. While we were there they were down to 1 working elevator, so waits were long.
