Suburban Studios Charleston - Civic Center

Looked ok by the photos but upon arriving, the location of this hotel was super sketchy, homeless people everywhere outside and did not feel safe for my family to stay at. Luckily Expedia was kind enough to help us cancel our reservation here and stay somewhere else!

The place was well kept with kitchen. Only issue was outside of the hotel. Didn’t feel safe.

Location was close to GoMart Ballpark

Not the greatest neighborhood, but the bed was clean and comfortable, however the floor was filthy (as my husband had white socks on and they were black). A lot of humidity in the room and it seemed damp. Went down once to ask a question to the person working the front desk - nowhere to be found. Also asked later about pizza places - he mentioned Domino's(?) but we found a Pies & Pints a few blocks away (which was really good!) Picked this place because it was close to 77 and it had breakfast, but not sure I'd stay here again.

Clean room great staff excellent breakfast. Outside grounds not very welcoming.

It was easy to find and welcoming Breakfast was limited, no milk for cereal and lack of drinks other than coffee

It’s the most present day I’ve had in the 65 years of my life! There might be something, but I’m not going to even dwell on anything because it was wonderful especially the staff. That’s what makes a place.

Great room. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and clean. The staff very helpful especially the woman who worked the breakfast room.

Heat didn’t work properly when I got there but staff was very quick in fixing the issue for me. Would stay again

Alot of homeless people nearby and the hallways smelled like beer and marijuana...

Nothing to like about this property Initially they gave us one room which has ants all over and lights , fridge and gas were not working . When we requested they changed the room and that room was much better. Location of this hotel is near to downtown , all over shady and homeless people. Breakfast was very bad . We are still awaiting for our deposit amount it’s been more than 12 days . We will not book this hotel again .

Breakfast was good, shower was clean with good pressure.
