The people here were awesome. We loved meeting people from all over the world and watching the World Cup together. The building, though, is pretty old and could use better maintenance. Our floor had water dripping from the ceiling the entire time and smelled like sewage. The staff seemed exhausted and weren’t very friendly, but the other guests were incredibly kind and helpful. This was the first hostel I stayed at when I came to the U.S., so I still have a soft spot for it and really hope it gets better.

Good vibe clean room good location. One of the best hostel I’ve ever stayed. Will come again

Great place. Room was clean. The lobby and lounge rooms were nice. The free coffee in the morning was a plus. I would gladly stay here again.

completely different experience from a hotel, better in a lot of ways. compromise on comfort and convenience, with big wins on pricing and opportunities to socialize with other travelers. if you're staying for business, pick a nice hotel. if you want to experience Chicago as a solo traveler, stay here.

Had to extend my stay the lady at the front desk was amazing went above and beyond for me. Location is close to everything

There was a fire evacuation and it was loud. But very nice building and social environments. Games and library on second floor, excellent location in Chicago! Would recommend.

Qué bueno que hubiera una persona que habla español que te diga todas las indicaciones de todo lo que puedes hacer o de todas las amenidades o cosas que hay. Información no estuvo disponible sino hasta el final de mi estancia

La ubicación es muy buena

Easy afford to explore Beds. I had back problems getting up. I prefer the bottom bed.

The location was perfect, the price was perfect. Everything was nice and clean. I met people from all over the world. The total vibe was amazing. I will be staying here again next year. Everything was amazing however, I got the top bunk. I was really hoping for a bottom bunk.

Perfect for city adventurers of all sorts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Can't say enough. They literally offered more than I can think of. It's a beautiful sightseeing walk from Union Station and subway access all over the area. There's a CVS right by the hostel and plenty of shopping nearby for anything else you need. Great restaurants in walking distance; the one next door was DELICIOUS. The hostel offers free events and local guides. There's laundry, lockers, private meeting rooms, common areas that were always lively yet relaxed. A spacious lounge with TV, library & pool tables. Huge clean professional kitchen, dining room with a charming view of the train tracks. Pretty much everything but a patio or BBQ grill. We filled our bottles with cold filtered water each day and drank free coffee and tea in the morning. Our room was plenty big, we slept great on the beds, and it was always pretty quiet. Your dorm has a chill semi-private lounge to relax or congregate outside your room. Our shared bathroom was easy to get to and I had a nice shower after the beach. The towels, sheets, beds and pretty much everything are what you expect from a hotel. You have a desk, closet with hangers and ironing board, just no usb charger ports or tv in the room. The staff was amazing. They let us check in VERY early, which made our whole trip better. There's someone available at the desk 24hrs. We really loved our stay. If you're kinda on the fence about hostels, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Fairly clean for the price, very secure building with many locks and security measures in place, affordable. It was fairly quiet other than the occasional train going by (didn't bother my sleep I slept great). Almost 3 dollars for one cheese stick by the snack selection? That was odd. No TV or private bathroom which was to be expected and wasn't a bother for me. The walk to the hostel was a bit frightening as a young woman with many homeless people sitting around outside under the cover of the building. The security of the building was good though and made me feel better about it. Not a very wide array of places to eat nearby at a walkable distance. Food is offered at a steep price though.

Great location and hostel events. I stay here pretty often and plan to return if the occasion arises.
