They charge a facilities fee which is about 20 bucks a night for the amenities. I generally don't have a problem with that as it includes breakfast. BUT, I was annoyed that in the hotel gym (which isn't bad), the bikes had some problems. It's a slight nitpick, admittedly, but that's what it is. The hotel is very close to transit and the LOOP which is the main area of Chicago. Staff were amazing and helpful, the breakfast was very filling. The gym has weights that go up to 20KG, which is pretty nice and they do have those gymbro slogans on the walls which is kind of fun.

Great!

Incredible hotel — it was clean, the room was spacious, the staff were incredibly friendly, and it was conveniently located in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of everything we needed.

Great location: 1/2 block east of Michigan Ave and a 10 minute walk from the "Grand" station on the CTA Red Line (w/ 24 hour service). The breakfast buffet was awesome: the best I've ever seen. Do not miss it! Would stay there again.

The location, the services and the overall loveliness of the experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days stay at Riu Plaza Chicago. It is close-by to all the major attractions. Staff is cordial and supportive. Their breakfast spread is heavenly. Rooms and particularly washrooms are big enough. We were on a high floor, view from the room was great.

The location is why I chose the Riu. It's close to every place I wanted to go, rhe Riverwalk, Magnificent mile and Navy Pier. The hotel itself is new, beautiful, and welcoming. The staff from the doorman to house keeping were very helpful. The room was a little smaller than I expected, but it was nice, only thing missing was a microwave, had to throw our leftovers away. The rooftop lounge area was amazing, especially at night when the city was lit up. The rooftop staff seemed to cater to certain people, that's the only issue I had. The breakfast was the best I ever had at a hotel, so many choices, and the room was beautiful as well with the city view. I will definitely return my next overnight stay in Chicago.

Good overall

Very pricey but then again its downtown Chicago. Excellent breakfast buffet, very roomy shower and entire bathroom. Comfortable bed, needs better pillows, very secure.

The breakfast is amazing!

We were blown away that every single person associated with the hotel was kind, helpful, great at their job, accommodating, and basically wonderful. The hotel was amazingly clean, environmentally forward-thinking, safe, and handy to EVERYTHING in downtown Chicago. The best surprise was the massive breakfast buffet that was included in the price of the room. The breakfast accommodated a steady stream of guests and never ran out of the ample variety of food. It was the perfect way to begin each day. Another treat: the rooftop bar and the hotel bar. Excellent service and skilled bar-tenders. It's a gem and don't hesitate to book a room in this hotel.

Room was very clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful when we had issues with wifi (which were resolved very fast) and issues with flight cancellations impacting our arrival. Great breakfast buffet, lots of options and convenient. Rooftop bar was beautiful! The location was perfect for walking around the city and for getting to the red line. Would definitely recommend!!
