The room had an odd smell for the first few hours. I have stayed here many times before, I know it’s been almost about 8 years since my last stay here, but I felt like everything hasn’t been taken care of much since then. The paint on the walls was sloppy around the trims, the light switch was a little broke, the lamp charger & the lamp itself are very wobbly, the tv stand door kinda was broken. The window was very dirty. Our bed had like, small grains of sand on it? Like not a lot, but you could randomly feel small grains every once in a while. It worked for a small short trip but I probably won’t come back here for as much as a room is, I used to highly recommend this hotel back then & now I just felt like I was at a Super 8.

The property was clean and the staff was awesome.

Second time staying here, great stay!

Housekeeping did not service our room, were out all day and came back at night to a room without clean towels. We called front desk and advised that towels would be sent up. After 1 hour had to call back to finally get the towels.

I love this hotel. If you stay in the middle on the upper floor to the north there's a chance you can see the lake :-). It's right around the corner from the Young Street beach, the John Hancock building as it was formerly calm, and the magnificent Mile. I love the Knickerbocker hotels. Here's a hit if you make love really loud they leave a bucket of ice and just knock on your door and then they leave it. So if you don't want to get your own ice. The Knickerbockers got a plan :-) LOL I once met an angel at the Knickerbocker in Milwaukee, so the line is very special to me.

This is a favorite hotel of mine. It's right around the corner from oak Street beach in the magnificent mile. Did John Hancock building as it was formally called is virtually next door. You park there. Parking was a little pricey but welcome to the center of the world's best City :-). The Knickerbocker has a dear place in my heart.

I paid over $600 for a room and when I opened the door the first thing I saw was a stain on the carpet. Something you can overlook when you stay at a cheap hotel. Also, I left my IPhone charger at home and called the front desk at 10:00 .PM and I got an abrupt “we don’t have that. The next morning I went to the front desk and the person right away found a charger. The evening response was really bad customer sevice.

Nice Hotel, enjoyed our stay
-
Good place to stay - close to the water tower. Many of our activities were more south but no problem getting Uber or Curb rides. Outside staff not helpful with finding rides but pleasant and helpful when we returned. Breakfast at the Nix was excellent

Hotel is very clean and well maintained. The room is slightly smaller than I am used to but comfortable. We had dinner at the bar one night and the entrees were cooked and served well. The hotel staff are very good and helpful in all actions. I will definitely stay here again.

Dirty rooms

I like the Knickerbocker - it's on a quiet street between Michigan Avenue and the lake, and it's not too big or too small. I've stayed there several times - and this last time I could overlook the loud air conditioning/air flow and poor lighting in the room and bathroom. But hitting guests with a destination fee at the time of check-in is bait and switch. I booked the room based on what was shown on hotels.com as the "Total with taxes and fees". This should include EVERYTHING. Had I known my 2 night stay would cost an additional $46.96 in destination fees alone, I may not have chosen to stay there.

The hotel bar was limited. only open from 4 to 11. the bartenders were not very attentive and had to wait some time just to get a drink. The Hotel is old but well maintained. The staff was not able to recommend any good places to eat. Good place I would stay there again.
