Millennium Hotel Knickerbocker Chicago

Staff was very friendly, a parking ramp down the block where I have parked before refused to take my vehicle because of the size, the hotel let me park right in front of the hotel.

Exceptional

The location is great, but the whole place needs renovation. My credit card got charged accidentally during my sleep, to which the receptionist claimed it was an error, make sure to lock your credit card as this apparently happens very often.

Daily housekeeping and laundry service are nice. Martini bar and restaurant within the hotel are convenient and a good option for dinner and drinks late at night. Perfect location within walking distance of most stores, restaurants, and other local attractions.

Location is good Old, poorly maintained property. Carpets in hallway and the room are stained and torn. In the hallway on my floor the floor was tacked down with black tape. The bathroom looked newly renovated but when I showered the whole bathroom flooded because the shower door isn’t sealed properly. Also the bathroom had a loud fan that couldn’t be turned off. I had to change rooms. My new room has peeling wallpaper.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The only suggestion is a bar to assist getting in/out of the bathtubs. The side of the tub is very high. Other than that the room was perfect.

The stay was okay. Wish there was an option to have breakfast included. You’re given a 20% of coupon for breakfast.

Breakfast expectations were exceeded. Room was cozy and cute. TV options, lots of commercials. Shower needed more pressure for the main showerhead..

The bed is comfortable, and the place is clean. I was charged an extra $60 just for changing from one king bed to two separate beds. This charge is unreasonable, and I do not understand why I should have to pay extra for this change. I expect a full refund of the $60. Please explain why I was charged and resolve this issue immediately. If this cannot be resolved, I will escalate the matter to hotel management.

The best location possible! It is a really old hotel and it is lacking maintenance, the vintage vibe of the place would be great if the took care of it.

Loved this hotel, and would definitely stay here next time we come to Chicago. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The location was convenient, on the Magnificent Mile, walking distance, or a short bus ride to Millennium Park, the Art Institute, Symphony Hall, Riverwalk, the Lyric Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art, Navy Pier and great restaurants. The hotel restaurant was great, food well prepared and well presented. The staff was friendly, professional and always helpful. We cannot say enough good things about this place!

The room was clean, and the staff helped supply anything needed. A great location in Chicago for sightseeing and shopping.

The hotel is very well located, close to downtown Chicago and the Magnificent Mile. The breakfast was great and reasonably priced. The staff, including the front desk, restaurant, and valet teams, were very friendly and attentive. The only downside was the very loud AC, which was disappointing for a hotel of this level.

Superb

No heat. I was freezing! The temperature in my room was 67 degrees. I stayed at the hotel to watch movies at night. However, most of the movie channels pictures were going in and out so I was unable to watch TV. And the shower water was lukewarm instead of hot.

Location The breaks fast voucher that I was given that only allowed you a quite poor English Breakfast. I wish they were more transparent with that while making the booking.

Poor

Housekeeping will loudly be in conversation in the hallway from 8a, like it is some block party, going on for 20-30 minutes, disturbing guests. That said, there were also exceptional staff who had the demeanor you expect from this kind of property or price point. Some give you that old world charm and welcoming feel. Because of my bad experience they did comp the resort fee, which I appreciated. Given there is no pool or roof deck not complimentary breakfast or snacks, etc, I was surprised at there being a resort fee at all. If they address their issues with training and hiring, this could be a lovely place. Once I got a clean room, it is clean, modern, decent sized rooms. I had a partial view of the beach and it is super convenient to the beach. They do provide unlimited free water bottles during your stay. I felt safe as a single woman. It was easy to get Uber/Lyft.
