La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbia SE / Fort Jackson

The hotel is older and looks to be in the middle of upgrades. It was good for one day. The room and bathroom were very clean and did not smell like dogs as it is dog friendly. The front staff were very nice. We did not stay for breakfast but did look good and plentiful.

Great parking and breakfast

Nice place to stay, clean kept well and close to amenities.

Been here last year, seems that they have renovated the property. Rooms had a modern touch, nice layout for wash and bathroom. Breakfast was very good, selection of the usual fare. Everything in the room was fine, beds were cozy, AC unit was fine. The bed is placed a little too close to the AC unit, so cold air is blowing directly onto you. But, bed is fixed in its location, so it wasn't that bad. Hotel across was having some big party, really loud music playing outdoors, but it died down later. Like last year, the driveway to the hotel is not paved and has potholes and unpaved up to the entrance, so you have to be careful. Ample parking in back of hotel, front desk check in is easy.

I would stay again, the room was comfortable and recently renovated. The breakfast was very good. The elevators need some maintenance work, they were operational, but in need of maintenance.

My room just felt dirty. The hallways were even worse. I want to say that there was some remodeling being done, but everything else was just so dingy and dirty looking my bathroom had no lotion. It had no bar soap. It was just the amenities were just not really amenities. Breakfast did not look good at all either so I just skipped breakfast the whole time I was there.

Staff helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and comfortable.

Comfortable stay

Night staff was unhelpful. The air conditioning did not work in our room and was humid the entire time. The hallways were cooler than our room for the entirety of our stay.

I was VERY unhappy with the front desk staff. I called ahead to request to add my daughter to the reservation and to advise that she is 21. I was assured that she was added and that she was ok to check in as a 21 yo. She arrived after a long drive and was very rudely denied entry to her room. I was 2.5 hrs behind her and could not be there to check in. I asked to speak to the front desk rep who was also extremely rude to me. I was told this was my fault bc I must have spoken to a third party and I should have known to ask. Unacceptable!!! My daughter was forced to call the corporate offices when the front desk staff blew her off and refused to help us make this work. The corp rep informed her that the age to check in is actually 18. This was handled so poorly but someone who obviously doesn’t care to do her job well. The property was clean and exactly as expected for the price point. But the staff made the experience terrible. Having said that, the woman my daughter spoke to at the corporate level was apparently wonderful!

Our room was clean and there was a decent breakfast spread. The hotel is under construction though, and we weren't aware of that ahead of time. It will look great when it's done!

Please was clean and peaceful! Only downside is that the ice machine wasn’t working on the 5th floor
