Beachfront Inn and Suites at Dana Point

Firstly, this hotel is not beachfront. You need to cross the main highway and railroad track to get to the beach. There are no utensils, glasses, or plates in the room. Tried to get bottle opener from reception no go. Said he could sell me one.Come on really.

Very friendly and great location

The room was huge and right across from it was the ocean. We got a room with a balcony and it was so beautiful, we could just walk right out to the balcony and have a full view of the ocean. I loved everything about the room. It wad a short stay just one day and I would of loved to stay at least 2 to 3 days.

I always enjoy staying at this hotel nice clean older but well maintained good breakfast.

The beachfront is a nice hotel at Dana Point, away from the busy parts of Laguna Beach. It is a quieter area and you can relax and listen to the ocean waves from your room. Friendly staff, clean and accommodating rooms.

Breakfast was not breakfast. So be aware and do not book the hills rooms. Unless your like sleeping in a closet

We had reserved rooms here for our wedding party and all was great! The split building makes it tricky to figure out how to find rooms, lol but I just took a walk around and learned the walk. Beautiful view and all was great.

Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Staff was great. I wish there was a pool instead of jacuzzi - even if it was just a small pool.

We loved this place! Definitely will be coming back. Was a very short walk to the beach across PCH. The hotel was great and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We really recommend this place if you want to stay close to the beach. We had an oceanfront room and the connecting room helped so much with our little one so we could have our own time. Complimentary breakfast maybe could have had a few more options to eat, but they had French vanilla creamer for my coffee so I was a happy camper!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean , no carpet which I like. Balcony facing the ocean was beautiful, you could hear the waves all night.

Right on the beach with great views. Breakfast was good and staff were very helpful with accommodations. Hot tub was a nice bonus after traveling. We grabbed snacks and enjoyed the sunset from the patio

The staff , especially DJ , fantastic. Made sure our party was comfortable! We loved it.

Room was clean, on the smaller side but had all we needed. The staff were really nice and friendly.

the view of the beach is just incredible the walkability is amazing. for the night we stayed it was pretty chill and a good spot.

We had a top floor ocean view room at the front corner, the view was amazing. The rooms are clean, bedding could have been updated, there is no extras in the kitchen as in dish soap, paper towels, silverware, etc. but otherwise was fine. Overall a great stay with a good location. The train and traffic was mentioned in other reviews, there are trains and traffic but didn't seem to bother us, heard once in the night the train and also got used to them, you are on a highway but the beach and listening to the waves made up for any other noise.

I grew up in So. California, but have lived for most of my adult life on the East Coast. I regularly take beach trips. When hotels/rentals say “beachfront” there, they mean on the beach. No deceptive or fanciful naming. There might be a boardwalk you have to cross to get to the beach but that’s it. At this hotel, the following is btw you and the beach: Hwy 1, active train tracks, a chain-link fence, and a parking lot. The photos are also misleading, as they make it look beachfront. False advertising. “Steps to beach”—maybe 2000 steps. Closest passage is a rickety 4-story metal structure a few blocks down. And you still have to cross the hwy first. I had planned this as a special trip for my son, who’s never seen the Pacific Ocean. Ruined. “Can hear the waves.” Maybe on the top floor occasionally. Mostly you hear traffic and trains. Don’t know why others rated this so highly. I even googled the location before the trip and it looked beachfront. The hotel itself is nice, but the breakfast is minimal for the price. Shameful, scammy false advertising. Posted about it on FB. Friends were shocked and appalled. And you have to pay to park, which seems a tacky, new, greedy CA trend.

Had our bridal party stay here for our wedding it was nice clean and very friendly people

Nice location across from state beach, busy hwy. Walking distance to 2 good restaurants. Building is old and needs upgrades and outside maintenance.
