The beds were way too large for the rooms, giving very little room to walk around. The patios were lovely with nice patio furniture and a fireplace. The property had just been taken over 3 months prior unknown to me when I booked on Expedia.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous - all of the finishes are such high quality. There is nothing "cookie cutter." Our room had a lovely ocean view (I believe all of the rooms do) with a little balcony. The balconies on the second story do all seem to connect so they are a little less private, but we didn't even run into other guests. The room has a a front and back door (both dutch doors) so you get great ventilation and ocean breeze. The room had a little record player and records so we loved leaving the doors and windows open and enjoying some music and the beach air. Parking is easy and they even have a few covered spots for shade. My only complaint is that breakfast was very limited - just coffee, tea, granola bars, and tiny croissants. The croissants were delicious, but they didn't seem to restock them so we watched some people leave without pastries.

It was so cozy and right by the beach! I’m definitely coming back—we had such a great time. The view from our room was absolutely stunning, like “Ocean Front” beautiful. You’re conveniently located near Dana Point and San Clemente, which means tons of great places to eat and drink. They even had a record player with some records, and you could connect your phone via Bluetooth to play music too. There was one thing I didn’t expect: our room didn’t have a closet, but that wasn’t a problem because they had hangers and a place to hang your clothes. The staff was so attentive and pleasant.

Our stay at Capistrano Coast House was great. Our room was clean, had a great view and the staff was helpful. I look forward to staying there again.

This hotel was great with a lot of character, the room was small but every room had their own area to sit outside and look at the ocean. The room had a Dutch door so you could open the top part to hear the ocean. No bar though

A cute property. The patio was nice to sit and have your coffee or a glass of wine. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I have already recommended to friends and family

the service was amazing and the room was beautiful

We loved how unique and beautiful this property is. It’s still getting going after changing hands but had coffee and yogurt with fresh fruit as a complementery lite breakfast. You can’t beat the location. PCH noise to be expected but the ocean is beautiful to listen too. Rooms were fun and again you cannot beat the location. The property was beautiful maintained and staff was so nice and helpful. Would definitely go back.

We loved our stay at The Capistrano Coast house .. great attentive service and the lower floor rooms with chiminea and patio with a love seat and cozy blanket made our stay incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. Would recommend and come back

Amazing boutique hotel on the coast with amazing views!

This place is truly unique and charming. It’s not your typical hotel with lots of amenities, but the character of the rooms and the incredible proximity to the beach more than make up for it. Yes, it’s close to the road, so you will hear some traffic and the occasional train passing by—but you’ll also wake up to the beautiful sound of waves crashing against the rocks. There’s something very peaceful and special about being so close to the ocean. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, one-of-a-kind coastal experience.

Very nice property. The phonograph was a nice surprise. Will stay again soon.

Overall, the hotel is very nice, well maintained and the staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a couple of issues at check-in. 1) The AC didin't work in our room and although the problem had been noted by a previous occupant, the front-desk staff were not aware of it. They moved us to another room. 2) The TV's are mounted in a nice picture frame, but unfortunately it covers the remote sensor. This means that the remote does not work from the bed and so you have to stand close to the frame and point it downwards. The easly fix would be to raise the TV a little, or put a small cut-out in the frame. Despite the above, we enjoyed our stay and plan to go back in the future.

The private patio out back was really nice and the Chimenea at night made it so cozy. The ocean view was beautiful. The staff was kind and helpful. The location was good and situated close to the things I wanted to see. I’m a solo traveler and it was a perfect getaway for me .

The staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. Homemade muffins and yogurt/ granola/ fruit cups. Our room had a coffee maker but no coffee. The balcony was nice and the comfortable chairs outside the room was a nice touch. Overall I would give it 3 stars.

We loved our stay at Capistrano Coast House! The rooms and property had so much character and when ambiance We enjoyed spending the evening on the patio with the little fireplace. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on! The property was beautiful with hibiscus flowers and hummingbirds everywhere! The only disappointment was that the new owners are not quite setup with the amenities described- they are waiting for an alcohol and food service permit- so breakfast was limited to muffins, with yogurt added for only one day in our 5- day stay.

I will definitely stay here again.

We especially appreciated the convenience of having parking directly behind our room. Our accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with both a front and back entrance that added an extra level of privacy and convenience. One of our favorite features was our private little patio with a chiminea. It created such a peaceful and charming atmosphere—the perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy the evening. It was those special touches that made our stay feel truly memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our visit and were genuinely sad to leave. This is definitely a place we look forward to returning to, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, charming, and exceptional stay. We can’t wait to come back!

Slept great on the very comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was not much to speak of but maybe that improves when they open the restaurant. Parking can be tough if all spots are full. There is a train track near by if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs but it was well insulated.
