The Northshore Hotel - Boston/Danvers

The room wreaked of the motels past.

1 the internet didn’t work it kept coming and going they tried to fix it but it didn’t help. There were no closets or a place to hang your clothes so I asked at the office and was told that no their were no closets if you wanted those you have to book an Excutive room!!! The door to the bathroom was to big for the frame and there fore wouldn’t close at all !! The stopper in the sink would was stuck shut so that didn’t drain. The shower also didn’t drain so you were standing in ankle deep water. The tv was 32 inch but the actual picture was about 25 inch !! So my remendation would be sleep in your car!!!

If you tend to get cold, I recommend bringing or requesting an extra blanket. The towels were adequate—not plush, but perfectly serviceable. Only the basic number was provided, so women or anyone who prefers separate towels for their hair and body may want to request extras. There was also only one trash can, located outside the bathroom, but it was easy enough to move it into the bathroom when needed. The hotel was exactly what we needed for a few days in Salem and was only about 20 minutes away. It is beautifully nestled away from traffic and other noise. Because it is an older hotel that has been renovated, soundproofing between rooms is limited. If you are sensitive to noise, I recommend requesting a room without another guest directly above you. Overall, the property was clean and well maintained, and the staff was exceptionally kind. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

Towels were very small

The main room and both bathrooms were clean. The cost was fair. The location was close to the event we attended at Racino. With 3 guests we had a 2nd room, it was dirty. The sofa cushions were very stained and flattt worn out. The hideaway bed was uncomfortable and under the bed was trash, forks etc,. The free breakfast was out of food with an hour still to go for serving.

staff friendliness, cleanliness, simplicity of things some noise from the room next door. the location was set aside which can be difficult to find for some, but we did not have any issues.

First, this is a motel, not a hotel. It's also not that easy to access or even find. The first room they gave me was on the second floor, carried my luggage all the way up there (which was difficult at my age) only to discover the room had no electricity. The beds were comfortable and the room was well-equipped. The breakfast was just muffins/bagels and make-your-own waffles. They ran out of cream for the coffee. But the worst part of my experience was that the floor was filthy!

Front door didn't close correctly, bathroom door didn't close at all, no trash can in room only in bathroom which was not sufficient, no tea or coffee in room, upstairs people/pet kept me up all night running around at all hours of the night woke me up at least every 45 minutes, room has red stains on ceiling and wall, baseboards were extremely dirty, floor needs repair, bed head boards make loud noise, the conditioner was completely out, pile of construction right outside the room.... Also this is a Motel not a Hotel. Name and pictures are not an accurate representation of this place.

The staff was nice The bathroom sink drain was clogged, couldn’t leave water on for 1-2 mins or sink would start to fill up and took awhile for a little bit of water to go down. The shower cloth curtain was moldy at the bottom. We had dog hair on our tv remote. Mind you we didn’t check in till 11:30pm so no excuse not to be cleaned properly. Says breakfast included. All it is, is simple grab n go stuff. You want hot waffles, you have to cook them yourselves and takes forever. Upon arrival the property is so dark and sits way off in the back.

Beautiful room, bed was so comfy and cozy, breakfast was simple but great, coffee on arrival was a blessing.

It was very clean and within good distance of our destinations we were visiting! Bathroom door sticks a little bit that's not too bad really

The hotel was convenient for where we were staying and planning things to do. The property itself was quiet. The building sits behind another, but I was aware from reading previous reviews. Grounds were well kept. I have no complaints here.

It was a little out-of-the-way, and in just the right spot for us to go see the places we wanted to see!

We loved our stay at North Shore. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. There was a little sitting place outside to sit and enjoy the weather or let the kids play and the staff were amazing. The rooms were clean and you can open the windows to let the breeze in. Again this place was amazing. If I ever make it back to Salem Mass I’ll definitely be staying here again.

The breakfast was wonderful, great selection and great coffee! Staff was very warm and friendly Our bathroom door didnt close all the way no matter what we did. And only had 1 pillow per person, a few more pillows would have been well used. And a warning about how to enter the parking lot would have been appreciated, arriving in the dark with no warning how to get in was certainly a learning curve

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE HIDDEN GEM!!!! OUTSTANDING, clean, updated, beautiful room!!!! At a GREAT value.
