Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver

Hotel was undergoing renovations, and I was not informed. The room had chipped paint and the door chain was removed. No hot water one morning. I stayed here about 10 years ago and loved it and now I won’t bother coming back.

This hotel is looking tired and not up to the Hotel Monaco standard I was expecting. I stayed here 20 years ago and loved it then. Unfortunately, the updates they’ve done have made it very drab. In general, the hotel is looking tired and worn. Very disappointed.

Room was large (which we paid for). Location is very good. Terrible WiFi. Could barely stay connected. Wallpaper peeling off walls, paint chips on trim. VERY HARD mattresses and uncomfortable pillows (too high). Super dark rooms with no decent lighting anywhere. Valet car was a joke. App didn’t work. We called down twice to get the car pulled around. Doesn’t matter. They get your car when you come down and ask for it. Old TVs with ancient remotes. No housekeeping service when we left our room. Had to call in the evening for fresh towels. Just a horrible stay. Kimpton, what were you thinking buying this hotel?!

Very nice and comfortable. Quiet and convenient. Good happy hour. Would stay again.

Central location, close to restaurants and bars, spacious and comfortible room. No coffee and tea facilities in the bedroom.

Issue with the A/C in room, which building services couldn’t fix. Nobody from the hotel assisted with finding a replacement room. Front desk staff - less than helpful.

We were put in what felt like the proverbial servant’s quarters, though we booked a premium room and reserved an upgrade. The front desk staff boarded on offensive and though we did finally get moved to a proper room on our second night, the memory of hearing other guests loudly all night and morning in the adjoining to our old was hard to forget. Facing the parking garage was also a first in all our multi years of travel around the world. The first night felt like a Motel 6, but far worse. The restaurant Panzana however had splendid cuisine and the doormen were very kind and helpful. Will not stay at this hotel again unless we can be assured of receiving a proper room, not some afterthought space being marketed as a guest room.

We weren't fond of the required "amenities fee" for certain things like alcoholic beverage options and since I am not a big drinker. We felt pressured to ask for additional non-standard amenities because we paid a fee for them.

Good, clean rooms

Our room was not clean. There was food (both packaged and spilled) in the fridge. There were dirty foot prints on the bed. Dirty bathroom. Don’t get me started on how disgusting the hand held unit in the shower was. Broken nightlight (ripped off of bed frame).

Property needs a renovation, especially in the public spaces. Paint touch ups needed everywhere. Restaurant feels strangely empty. Just a very tired looking property. Should’ve stayed at the hotel next door instead at the same price.

The fact that it’s a shuttle stop for Red Rocks is why we chose the hotel. It ended up being a great choice. Great bar and happy hour right before the bus left for the concert but then a nice quiet night when we returned.

The bedroom was ok. The beds were comfy. Wouldn’t ever recommend staying there though. The reception staff and overall management were awful. Zero understanding how to manage or speak with hotel guests. They were clearly understaffed, the staff they did had were not trained well. No manager on site when we asked for one. Quite possibly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever dealt with and sadly it came down to the staff. Would not waste your money on this place, plenty of hotels in the area and I’m sure you’d have a better experience elsewhere. Real shambles and so sad we had to deal with that after we’d been on such an amazing holiday, best holiday we had been on and then for our last to days of our trip for it to end so awfully because of the hotel.

Very expensive room for what you get. No free coffee. No free breakfast. No free parking. You pay a daily resort fee for nothing. Older hotel. Restaurant was never open. Only positive was the staff and it was in central downtown.

Great location, water always available a big bonus in Denver!!! Staff was helpful. Pick up location for Red Rocks shuttle is great.

Not what we expected from a Kimpton. Although non-smoking, smell of cannabis was prevalent in hallway and common areas. Arrived on a Friday at 3PM but could not get a drink at the restaurant as it was closed. Had to go across the street to a different hotel. Pretty sure the place was packed and only one of the elevators was working. No attempt to get the other one working our entire stay. Staff, though, was very nice and pleasant.

Beautiful place , amazing service and food at Panzano Italian restaurant . Rooms were very comfortable , very clean .
