Amazing & Beautiful room!

Did not seem to be a safe place

The property is gorgeous, but not maintained to any high standard. Cleaning is very casual, like a pretty good roommate. Staff is responsive and friendly.

Stayed in the Alfred room last time (a month ago) and it was amazing. Stayed in the Augusta room this time. No soap or shampoo in the bathroom, and no staff on site to get some. Towels stank, bathroom wasn’t clean, and the fridge didn’t work. Mattress was like something out of a hostel, pillow cases didn’t seem clean. I can’t believe it was such a different experience from staying in the Alfred room one months earlier. Disappointing.

The shower was amazing and the bed was so comfortable! We stayed in the Albert. It was pretty weird not having a door to the bathroom, and the divider that they had didn't stay on the track if you tried to use it.

First let me say I hate leaving bad reviews. BUT do yourself a favor and book another hotel. While the online reviews and photos were charming, the hotel itself was less than desirable and just sad. In a sketchy area of town (although the hotel can't help that), I was reluctant to go out alone even during the day. And it's never a good sign when there is a plunger next to the toilet in the room. The hotel itself was old and shabby. Worn carpets, uninviting. The room was painted bright orange. I felt like I was living in a traffic cone. There were no real curtains on the window in the alcove, making the room feel very open and not at all private. Never saw another person: no staff, no cleaning crew, no other guests. Everything was done via text, and the phone number they texted me the code to wasn't even my number. Had to call to get the codes, seemingly to a Virginia number. No remote in the room and it took hours after I asked for it to arrive. It had been left at another room! Soap was miniscule, there was no shampoo. The only amenity was a shaving kit. Bathtub was dingy. The only thing right was the air conditioning worked. Had I been able to cancel and get a refund, I would have left and gone elsewhere. Unsatisfactory all the way around.

There were open street drug deals happing right out front as we arrived in our Uber. We were solicited by prostitutes as we walked up to the door. Inside was run down and not clean. It was so bad we booked somewhere else and elected not to stay.

Cute place, fairly quiet for the age of the building, central location, but on a very sketchy road (Colfax), so be aware if you're a female traveling alone. Street parking is free, if you can find it, there's no designated lot. Few amenities, so bring your own stuff.

Terrible location on a busy street, very noisy

Cobwebs on the lamps. Mini fridge frozen solid, no door for the bathroom. Dangerous area with drug dealing and litter.

Charming property that needs a lot of TLC. The host was very helpful.. Air conditioner works poorly... Bed was comfortable. Dripping tub faucet. Clean shower curtain.

Interesting and unique rooms as each room is different. Loved having a small kitchen and frig. Also enjoyed the sitting room. Did not like the homeless folks all camped out in the street (Colfax) as it is under construction.

Quaint, room was nice, cozy. Love the antiques. Neighborhood is sketchy to say the least. I'm a big guy, and feel safe in most places, had to be on high alert while walking in the area. Literally was asked for narcan while leaving because someone across the street was overdosing.

The bed frame had issues and the mattress slipped off it twice.

Exceptional

The door code texted to me was wrong.

The room was clean, but the bathroom needed a deeper cleaning, particularly behind the sink pedestal. Location was a bit sketchy, with run down empty businesses and several un homed people about.
