Staff was very welcoming, the bed was comfortable and I like how the inn feels cozy and quaint. I’ll definitely be back there!

While I realize that hotels in Detroit can be hit or miss, I was saddened by the lack of cleanliness of my room. There was an army of dust bunnies along the baseboards, and for the cost of the room I was disgusted. Add that to the fact the AC was not working, and I was not impressed.

We had to move rooms and it was still 80 degrees in our new room. They didn’t have enough fans, which is not ok. They did find me an AC window but the very kind maintenance couldn’t get the window in the bedroom which is another layer of unsafe condition in a fire. Scary situation TBH. The hotel has quaint potential but is in desperate need of a serious renovation and it is unethical to charge the amount they do without basic working amenities like AC and unsafe living conditions. Maybe in the winter but I would skip the summer. It’s simply not safe. For full disclosure, the management is refunding part of my stay, which is appreciated but does not resolve the overall issue.

The property was decorated nicely. I grew up in a historic home and was looking forward to staying here. But day 1 there was no air conditioning in the room on the hottest 2 days of this year thus far. We were in the biggest heat wave. I was told the AC was being worked on and they gave out all their fans. So I had to go to Walmart to buy a fan so I would not get sick. I have autoimmune conditions that get extremely flared with extensive heat. I feel the managers of this property should be up front about things like this so patrons can make an informed decision about whether to stay or not. I do feel I should be reimbursed for having to purchase a fan.

The sitting room had popcorn on the floor form previous guest and not being able to control the air was a downer when there was a heat warning outside .

Loved the property stunning room. Amazing front desk personnel

They no longer have breakfast. That was a disappointment.

No ac on a sweltering day and night. Maid took all the towels and didn't replace them. Very low shower water pressure. But otherwise, very nice! Awesome weekend pastries, and very helpful staff (24/7). Location was also great if you don't mind waiting for the qline (free).

Yes I understand that it is really old house but room was dirty carpet had white stuff on it tile in bath had black grout and the fan had fuzzy along with every corner and wood door had alot of dirt on it the room looked like it was a teen room only not the clothes on bottom if you are going to advertise and price your Inn as a 200 room we should get 200 treatments locations was good though also no discount for terminally ill family members we had to stay

Beautiful homes and convenient to downtown.
-
The room was great as well as the location. Parking on site was great. We were able to take the free Q Line to downtown/Tigers game. Disappointed that there was no Continental breakfast during the week and only pastries on the weekend. Being gluten intolerant, I wish they would have yogurt or oatmeal or even juice. Also, no refrigerator in room but shared refrigerator available in main building as well as ice.

Beautiful old Victorian home with bits of history included. Close to Wayne State, museums and restaurants. Not far from downtown and sports venues.

Beat up accommodation. Yes, there is some charm associated with it, but still a bit too old. My second time here, new management, no breakfast in the morning, some fees present now (wifi.. etc).

Staff was SO helpful. Room was as expected. Repeat stayer and will reserve again if travel to the area is scheduled again :)
-
Special property with a comfortable room. We will be back.
-
Great location for our visits to the DIA and Ford Piquette Plant. Available parking on site. Very good restaurant nearby, too. Room was large and comfortable. Inn a little worn but nice overall. Would recommend

The Inn on Ferry Street offers a delightful, quaint, and unique experience.
-
It was a lovely place, with rooms spread between several buildings. A block from the trolly to downtown. Much more relaxed than a large hotel

—front desk guy was unhelpful. Had to be asked to help with the luggage, was unapologetic about the back door signage, and when advised of a problem with the TV said, “oh, just play with it. I’ll make a note in the system and Maintenance will be by tomorrow to have a look.” No help when the NBA championship is that same night. —electrical outlets were loose - and therefore unsafe; both my phone charger and CPAP machine plugs kept falling out. windows were dirty. No drinking glasses in the room. Paint chipped around window and door frames. —no housekeeping and no offer to provide service on request. one lone Kleenex left in box; toilet paper ran low, with replacement stowed out of sight/reach in closet. —too bad the property eliminated the breakfast (many travel sites still list it). On the plus side: —Keeta (sp?) helped us get our luggage to the car; very friendly and helpful. —excellent location —room was generally quiet though at times we could hear activity directly above us —paint colors and furnishings were beautiful

It's an old building, I understand.. but the AC doesn't work, the room was so and so clean, breakfast not available (only SAT and SUN)... a little bit pricey for the compromises. The property itself is characteristic.
