Candlewood Suites Erie by IHG

I booked through Expedia. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was overbooked and we were being rebooked at a partner hotel- At Hone2. When we arrived there - they said they were never contacted by the first hotel and they were also booked! They were kind enough to call around- but there were no reservations available at any other partner hotels that night. We ended up driving an additional 2 hrs and paying more. Totally disappointed by the mistake but the lack of service from this hotel was appalling.

The hotel only had one staff person working for the entire hotel. She was amazing, but she was only one person, and there was a soccer tournament in town. When I got to the room, the dishwasher was broken and leaking, and there was water on the floor. She came up right away and took care of it but there was some paper on the floor in the bathroom and the coffee maker didn't work. It was a lot of money to spend for that kind of experience. To be clear, this was not the staff's fault. Management did not staff appropriately, and it was very unfair to that poor worker. She was very friendly and doing all she could possibly do.

Location and It was quiet.

Stayed here due to proximity to Primanti Brothers Kind of expensive for a Monday night stay

If I paid $100 bucks for this room I’d say it was good, but I didn’t. I paid $315 for two rooms and I would NEVER stay here again for that price. My room smelled sour and mothbally. The bathroom sink faucet was not attached and you could clearly see someone’s bare footprints on the floor, so it obviously wasn’t cleaned. The toilet in my son’s room backed up and the bathtub looked dirty. I expect much more at that price point.

The room was quiet, clean, and the kitchen was well appointed. Bed was very firm and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. Laundry facilities were clean, but only one washer was working. Overall great stay

We checked in later at night, the front desk attendant was on the phone with a customer discussing a noise complaint and that there were no towels or help to clean rooms. We were finally checked in, the room had no toilet paper, towels and the bed was half made making it appear as though we were checked into a half cleaned room. The snack room ice machine was leaking and had a pool of water that you had to step over to get in, there were white towels on the floor to clean up the water. We ended up using our own blankets and towels. We asked for another towel and were apprehensively given one. Over all just a terrible experience. The manager in the morning had headphones on and just took our keys without any type of greeting or gratitude.

Friendly staff Bedspread and blanket both had blood stains. 2 towels in the room no pool towels went to trade in a towel after using it for a shower and for the pool was handed back a still damp towel. The free coffee for 3 days had no cup holders napkins no restocked

Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean and the room was perfect. Location was awesome for shoping and dining. We will definitely stay here every time we visit Erie.

Everything needed a very good cleaning. The floors seemed sticky…. Attention to detail would make a big difference. The recliner chair was broken when I arrived and although I was booked to stay for a week and called about the matter twice, it was never addressed. Staff was excellent though, did their personal best, and worked very hard. Laundry facilities were top notch. Parking was easy and free.

It was a nice facility and easy to navigate. Our room seemed either rushed or not cleaned at all. The bathroom had hair everywhere, even on the door hinges, tub, and floor. There was an obvious contact lens on the bathroom floor. The beds just had sheets and blankets on them, there was no tuck at the bottom, which is okay normally because I untuck, but coming into the room, it just felt undone.

The room they offered- standard small hotel room- wrong coffee pot in room - no dishes in room and no accessible shower. Justin - who verified everything the week before booking- also was at the front desk while checking in. He ( who claimed to be the GM) was terribly rude and acted like we were the problem. Justin claimed that the mixup was due to someone not checking out when they were supposed to. He suggested a Best Western for the same price! I offered to keep the small wrong room if she could be moved to the correct accessible suite the next day- he thought that would work- I asked to see the room to verify - he said housekeeping wouldn't be able to clean it until next...no worries I just want to verify that it was the correct type id room... showed it to me and it was smaller and still no accessible shower. Justin then told me that he didn't think this was going to work out because I wasn't giving him a chance to help him. Apparently- this hotel was purchasd recently- so beware of reviews prior to this new GM and management! Would highly recommend staying somewhere else unless you dont need specific anything. She stayed at the Homewood by Hilton less than a mile away and it was everything it was supposed to be! A 10 day stay- with kitchen and Accessible shower!

I was there for a commencement ceremony at PSU Berhendt that evening and didn’t have time to complain or change rooms. I’ve never been in an IHG Property like this before!

The shower temperature and pressure is amazing! The pool is fun.. i also really like the snack room

Naomi did a wonderful job of fulfilling all my needs. She helped me as soon as I arrived to check me in and provided the most amazing customer service. She will have me coming back time and time again.

Staff was friendly. We didn’t use anything extra, but the room was clean and nice!
