TownePlace Suites by Marriott Eugene

Clean and new, close to the big shopping center, would stay again if I am back. Not close to the center, but since I had a car this was not an issue. Would always trade clean place to location especially if I am in transit. Breakfast was typical American, so from European perspective was not good. We decided to eat in a great place next door (Elmer’s Restaurant - highly recommended), so this was not an issue.

Exceptional

The king studio suite was just like being in a little apartment with an oven, dishwasher, microwave,etc. The breakfast was decent and staff was very nice.

Not all Marriott's are created equal, this one felt like it was built cheaply and fast. I know I'm on the shorter side at 5'3", but no person under 6' can use the closet to hang clothing, it's the most ridiculous set up. The shower was on full blast with hardest water setting. I had to turn it off, step into the shower, balance on my tip-toes and try to turn the base to a different setting. The room was small, yet it took the AC quite a while to cool it down.

The lighting in the room was a bit dim. The bed was very comfortable. I thought it was going to be too soft but it was great.

Conveniently located near shopping mall, downtown and Hayward Field/University of Oregon.

We’ve stayed here at least 3 times. This was the first time that the room wasn’t spotless. Floors needed sweeping & room needed dusting. Everything else is great. Beds are comfy w/ 4 pillows on each queen bed. Appreciate the extra nightstands & toilet paper. Plenty of light & charging outlets. The AC controls are extensive & intuitive. Staff is always great, parking is easy & feels safe. A few loud neighbors.

Great trail right off the back of the property. Could walk dogs along the Willamette river.
