Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Gatlinburg at the Convention Center

The location of the hotel was close to the Parkway and within walking distance of the places we wanted to go. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a combination of a continental and hot food items with bagels, bread, mini muffins, oatmeal, eggs, and sausage. Along with coffee and juices. The outlets in our particular room were weird. Several had slots that were a little wider than the prongs on our plugs. Wasn't sure we'd get a good connection, but we did. The outlet in the vanity did not work. The ground fault would not reset. I did make the reservation desk aware when I checked out and was told they would have maintenance check it out.

The location is about as close to the main street as you can get without actually being on it! It is literally a 2 minute walk to Parkway, Gatlinburg with all the endless attractions. Parking is right outside but does get a little full. Also a small but swimmable pool if a bit public (6 foot at the deepest). Rooms are specious and air con good but not the best we've experienced. Comfy beds and overall is clean. Value for money excellent if you want to be right next to the attractions. Comes with breakfast. Now for the negatives - firstly the wi-fi kept failing. Really frustrating as we relly on this to plan next steps to our road trip and keeping in touch with friends/family abroad. When we mentioned this to the staff at the lobby (not once but twice) we simply got brushed to one side with "there's a problem in the area". So - we highlight a problem but they don't come up with any solution. Not good enough. In all honestly did not find the lobby staff particularly friendly. Lastly - the breakfast. It's basic and lack of seats/tables. We left still hungry. No waffle maker. Just a few bagels, cereal, toast, drinks and some fruit. Surely could include a little more to start the day?

Room was clean and comfortable. Location was good. All within walking distance. Good time of year to go. Not too crowded, even though there was a Jeep Invasion and Band Concert going on that weekend. We checked out on Friday so we missed the large crowds. Everything was nice;

The distance to the gatlinburg and shops Bathrooms were nasty black mold on ceilings and nasty around toilets, had to rinse tub out to shower

The main reason we booked this hotel is because it was a quick walk to the convention center. It’s also a short walk to town. The hotel was nice, the rooms are clean and updated, the beds were comfortable, we had a balcony. They have a nice little breakfast nook that serves eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, and also have cereal, packets of oatmeal and good coffee, with the option of hot chocolate for the kids. The staff was friendly, just seemed a bit new to the job and still learning the ropes. Just in case it’s not communicated to you and you can’t seem to find your room number. That’s because there is a whole other building over to the side of the main hotel that the other rooms are in.
