River Terrace Resort & Convention Center

Overall, it was three stars out of five. The room could've been cleaner; I tend to be very picky in this area. I could've pressed the issue, but our time spent in the room was very limited. The property is dated, could use some updating, but feasible. The staff were very courteous and there were no issues at all. The location is great because once parked, you can walk the entire downtown area without having to get out in traffic. If you're looking for a place just to lay your head and the rest of the time is spent on the move, not a bad place to stay.

We enjoy staying here. It’s perfect walking distance for everything in downtown Gatlinburg. The location is peaceful as well.

The upgraded room size was very nice. However, the furnishings were very dated. The door to the deck was very difficult to open, the mini fridge was very dated, the air conditioning was poor, and the tub backed up while showering. I went to the front desk and told them about the tub and was giggled at and reminded check out was at 10am.

Room is very outdated, needs renovation (specially bathroom). But we did not care much as we had short stay and did not spend a lot of time in the room. Our balcony was looking at the pool, not much scenery. Staff was nice. Location GREAT, we could walk everywhere

Great room close to everything

The rooms are very old! They aren’t upgraded at all. There are old chrome wall heaters partially rusted in the bathroom walls. Old rubber strips on the tub. The carpet was stained in places. The walls are old paneling that has been painted. We were supposed to stay 2 days on our getaway. The first night I was kept awake all night by people having sex so loud they were hitting the adjoining walls and causing our headboard to shake. You could hear their skin slapping together. Needless to say we checked out early and will be requesting a refund. I couldn’t rate any lower than 1 star or I would have.

We had been many times over the years and stayed at River Terrace and loved it. Well this was our anniversary 50th trip and it was so disappointing in every way. They charged me 170.00 for my 10 pound dog which the website said 25.00 a night. We had planned on staying 3 days but couldn’t because of the dirty rooms and property is in terrible condition. We left early ruined our anniversary trip. Never again and Westgate should be ashamed of owning this property.

Needs to be updated

The shower and sink had noticeable stains that made them appear dirty, even if they may have been clean. The room itself is quite outdated and could benefit from renovations. Additionally, the window blinds were broken, the toilet racked.

Room smelled a little musty

Rooms are outdated and could use an upgrade. However, staff are always friendly and the location is great.

Our stay was okay overall. The best thing about this property is its convenient location—it’s very close to the aquarium, which made it easy to visit nearby attractions. However, the hotel is outdated and could really use some renovations. The bathtub didn’t drain properly, so the water backed up while taking a shower. The listing also mentioned free breakfast, but we were never told where to go or given any information about it, so we missed out on that. With some updates and better communication, this property could provide a much better guest experience.

The room was clean and was central to everything I was looking for, but it was not the room I reserved and paid extra for unfortunately, so I'm waiting for the difference to return and I will update my rating to 5 stars, but 4 until then as overpaid for the room I was given as to what was reserved. I would go back of course, but wouldn't expect the room you reserve unfortunately

So much. the pictures you show are not accurate. Great photoshop. There is no food served here, the pool you show is not here, the amenities you have listed are not accurate. Wifi is only accessible at reception. Westgate membership was the goal.

I have booked the river view room and upon my arrival I was told that someone changed it and I had to stay in regular room. No apologies rather rude front desk staff !!! I will never visit this nor recommend my friends and family!
