El Rio Motel

It had a lot of parking It was all dirty and had bugs, wifi and tv didn’t even work.

At first, I liked where it was. But, quickly, it lost all of its appeal because of the many other choices available on the same block. I didn't like that the managers demanded I pay cash upon arrival and gave me no receipt. I didn't like that there was construction going on and horribly loud noise on the walls of my room. I didn't like that the fire alarm in the room was inactive, on the bed with no batteries in it. I didn't like that the window in the room would not lock. I didn't like that the chair in the room had sharp steal edges broken and wore off padding. I didn't like getting scolded and being told I complained too much about all that I had listed. I didn't like being intimidated by the workers when I complained about the construction work taking place in the room next to mine. I didn't like being treated as if all of these things should never be an issue for a client expecting to be honored in their reservation by a supposedly reputable organization such as Booking.com. Very disappointing!

It was very dirty, and there were lots of cockroaches and other creepy-crawlies in the room.

Everything about them was awful

NOTHING! This place was so run down and dirty I can't believe it. There were literally cockroaches in my bed!!!!!!!

The room smelled like smoke. Like someone was smoking in there 5 minutes before my arrival. I don't mind that the hotel is old and a little rundown. But that smell. In a supposedly smoke-free motel...

Room smelled of cigarette smoke. Stairwells dirty and full of cigarette butts. Check in room dirty and had dead roach on floor. Television was missing power cord. Lights next to bed had power cords draped around, and one of them had no socket to plug into. Man who checked me in didn't use my reservation so the day staff assumed I had overstayed after the first night, and padlocked my room so I couldn't get back in.

From the very beginning, the Asian woman started demanding money from me even though I had already paid through Booking. She insisted that I cancel the reservation, but if I canceled, I would be charged the full amount. She also started yelling at me, telling me to pay an additional 15% tax even though I had already paid including taxes. This went on for about 20 minutes. She kept yelling and speaking in her Chinese-accented, hard-to-understand English, which made the whole situation extremely frustrating to deal with. While I was trying to check how to cancel the reservation (because I didn’t want to be charged twice), she just walked away and went to watch TV ?. In the end, they charged me more money than what the app originally showed when I made the booking. I absolutely do not recommend this place. The room smells very strongly of cigarettes. The fridge is terrible, and it was honestly disgusting to even touch the shower ?. The shower curtain is made of fabric and smells bad. Water sprays everywhere, everything leaks, and there is rust. The air conditioner makes more noise than it actually works, so I had to open the windows. The bed squeaks, and the floor feels dirty and unpleasant to walk on barefoot. Overall, it’s better to pay more and stay in a NORMAL place. This is the worst room I have ever seen in my life! The service is HORRIBLE. I have never in my life experienced someone telling me to cancel my reservation and pay more on-site so they don’t have to pay taxes! That’s basically criminal. I hope they get shut down. The only positive thing about this place is the free parking and the location, which was convenient for my trip. Everything else is just terrible. 1 star. If I could give 0, I would give 0 out of 100. I do not recommend this place — avoid it if you don’t want your trip and mood ruined.

Unfortunately, the booking was confirmed with a confirmation number but there was no room. I arrived at the hotel to check in only to find out by the property attendant that no room was available, and they had no vacancy after I received a confirmation from booking.com.

Did not get to or want to stay. Room that I previously reserved online and that was approved by management, was occupied upon specified arrival time of 6pm. Upon arrival management was rude with no care or concern about our reservation. I was told there were no more rooms and was aggressively waived away by the wife. The husband then after came and tried to accommodate with a room with two separate beds for my spouse and I, also tried to up-charge us for that room as well. Absolutely horrible.

I like the location I like the small size I like the easy parking I did not like that the TV did not work all night and morning so I didn't get to watch TV that bothered me quite a bit I mentioned it to the manager I left notes a couple hours before I left and I never heard from her and I actually went out and bought batteries for the remote and told her that she said nothing She said Oh it works and walked away from me So she's a very clueless individual when it comes to customer support and taking care of people in her hotel She is Clueless and needs to be looking for another job Well I put it up there if you read the whole comment up there with fact that the TV didn't work all night I tried to fix it I put new batteries in the remote I reset it like it asked me to on the Vizio website Try everything it wouldn't work wouldn't work in the morning one more call day I told the manager whatever her name is a Korean woman what was up I left notes never heard from her When I finally turn my key in which she asked for she said when I told her about to keep the TV situation she doesn't she told me it works and walked away and I told her no you're not listening to me I told you it doesn't work and it doesn't and then she said oh oh well you know and I said no you don't care I see that you don't care I feel that you don't care and I can tell you don't care You seem like that type of person because you don't care that you're guests pay for a room with a brand new TV that didn't work all day and night and all you want to do is tell me I'm wrong That's not a good person managing a hotel is what I told her

The room smelled horrible, bed cover had holes, bed was uncomfortable, chair was filthy, the refrigerator was unplugged had to wait hours for drinks to get cold,buttons on air conditioner broken.I would not stay here again.

There was no ice machine and the Vizio wall TVs cable was not working properly because we had a difficult time logging onto their network. Our biggest pet peeve was that there was no phone in our room to reach the motels office for assistance.

I was not able to enjoy the stay. The Asian lady at the front desk denied me a room. She claim there was no vacancy even after I provided an itinerary #. Poor customer service
