We stayed for 3 days/2 nights. The room itself is cute, and while there’s no microwave—which is inconvenient—it wasn’t a huge deal. What IS a huge deal is that we found TWO ROACHES in our room on the very first night. I reported it the following morning, but they weren’t able to provide us with a different room. Instead, I was offered cleaning services for that day and one day of free parking (aka $10) as compensation. However, on the next morning - checkout day, we found TWO MORE ROACHES. Four roaches during a two-night stay is absolutely unacceptable. A hotel should be able to provide guests with a clean, pest-free room, and the fact that we continued finding roaches after reporting the issue is disgusting. And don’t expect much when it comes to customer service. The so-called “lobby” is essentially just a screen with a virtual representative. When you have an actual issue that requires assistance, it makes the experience even more frustrating. I genuinely hope no one else has to worry about accidentally bringing roaches home with them after staying here. Do yourself a favor: if you value cleanliness and want a pest-free stay, DON’T STAY AT THE LEEF.

Nice small place for a night stay, easy access and no trouble with checking in. Perfect in closed space feeling safe

Clean room, simple but worth the price!

Front desk kiosk area was swarming with mosquitoes. Kiosk guy said he would get the cleaning staff to address it but I witnessed them leave right after. No support structure for immediate assistance. Nice renovated property and renovated rooms. Small bathroom so be aware of that. Good price for the stay though. Everywhere else is rundown for the same price

Great all around.

Easy check in . Traveled alone, great clean space to stay the night. Calm quite area. Literally like a one bedroom set up , small but comfy.

I stay at a variety of hotels and motels in the immediate vicinity due to dropping and picking up my child at a nearby college. The Leef has been my worst experience in three years coming to Eagle Rock. I was first put off by the call-center welcome kiosk. The “staff” there were friendly enough, but it felt a bit shady. Like giving your credit card to who knows what. Next, the room. It appeared clean but there were little flying gnats buzzing around — not mosquitos luckily, but still annoying. The bathroom was so tiny, it was difficult to bring toiletries into. And, the worst part? As I was getting out of the shower the (very heavy) glass door came off of the track and seemed like it was going to trap me inside. I had to lift it up and out of the way just to get out. I called to report it and was told to send photographs to a gmail address. The person on the call was kind and helpful and I opted not to have it looked at because it was late and I was leaving in the morning. The bed was comfortable enough. And it was nice to have outlets on the nightstand. Other than that, I’ll definitely not be returning. Glad it was just a one night stay.

The staff are friendly and always available to help. The room is very clean and smells fresh. The only problem is that they don't have microwave in the room, no means to heat your food.

Great little hotel at a super reasonable price.

This was interesting to check in with a virtual agent. I loved the room. Perfect for my one night stay

Everything was great and easy to be there for a nice night or two! I do not like the webcam check in, it just feels so much less connected. I know it works for the staff, but it’s an odd dystopian feeling! Staff was nice, room is good! Good price and area!

Check-in is done through a virtual agent and was pretty straightforward. I was initially given a code for my room, but after many attempts, it simply would not work. I went back to the virtual check-in desk and they issued me a physical key card instead, which worked perfectly. Honestly, the key card seemed like the easier option! The room itself was simple but comfortable and had everything I needed, including AC, a refrigerator, and a hairdryer. The bathroom was small but nicely appointed. My only issue with the room was that it stayed noticeably humid throughout the night despite having the AC running. One thing to be aware of is that the walls are VERY thin. The property was quiet, but around 4 a.m. I woke up to someone in a neighboring room violently vomiting, and unfortunately I could hear pretty much everything. So while outside noise wasn’t an issue at all, noise between rooms definitely can be. Overall, I’d give it four stars. It’s comfortable, easy to find, has plenty of parking, and is in a convenient, drivable location for exploring the area. I’d stay again, but I’d definitely pack earplugs!

The property looks like it's been remodeled recently, which was nice, however, the rooms are tiny and it was not very comfortable. The bathrooms are tiny. There is no space in the sink area to put your toiletries, much less your hair stuff, or anything. The room felt very humid and the wall A.C. said it needed a new filter. The room was o.k. clean, but could have been better. There is no office, front desk, or anything like that. There's a kiosk where you check in and out. It was a bit strange. There is a $10 parking fee per day, which should not be, as you're already paying for the room, it should already be included. Just felt very disconnected. We definitely will not stay here again.

the room was clean and nice and the check in and out was pretty easy. you have to also call before 11am to book for a cleaning otherwise they won’t clean. i’d go back

The area is great, you have plenty of good shops/food places around within walking distance distance and it’s a quick drive to plenty of places like Santa Monica pier, Venice beach, Disney land, dodgers stadium the list goes on. We will definitely be back.

What I have liked about this hotel in the past: $10 parking, reasonable room rate, and a good location. I have adjusted to the virtual check-in, even if I prefer a human in person. This time, the room smelled of a very strong ammonia-like cleaner, which reminded me of an Elder Care Home, and that was tough to get past. The air conditioning was like a semi truck accelerating toward my head when it kicked in. When the woman in the adjacent room started coughing, I assumed she had entered our room, it was so loud. If you are any larger than me, and am very average, the bathroom will feel like you cannot fit inside. Otherwise, an inexpensive and clean option.
