The hotel was filled with concert goers, but there weren’t any late-night dining options for us in the hotel. Even the hotel bars closed as we walked in, 10 minutes before they closed officially. The sheets weren’t luxurious, or the pillows of great quality. And the towels were also not luxurious. I had to visit 3 floors to find a working soda/pop machine. There were 5 of us on that adventure. I think I paid $6 for a Pepsi One. And parking was an additional fee. That wasn’t obvious when I paid half a grand for one night … maybe that’s why they call it “Grand”, because that’s what you spend there? Otherwise it’s not that grand …

it was perfect.

We ultimately left the valet line, paid $38 to park in a lot two blocks away, and carried our luggage to the hotel. Considering we paid $366 for the room, this was an unexpected and frustrating additional expense. What disappointed me most was not the delay itself, but the lack of communication and solutions. Staff appeared aware of the problem but offered no guidance on self-parking options and declined to reimburse the parking cost. A breakfast voucher was offered, but that did not address the actual issue. Hotels occasionally face unusually high demand, but guests expect management to have contingency plans when parking operations become overwhelmed. Instead, customers were left to solve the problem and pay the extra cost themselves. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience significantly diminished my confidence in the property's commitment to customer service. Unfortunately, I will choose a different hotel on future visits to Grand Rapids.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I wanted to stay somewhere particularly nice for a special getaway. The room was very plain with nothing really standing out. I could have been at the Hampton. I don't think there was even a room refrigerator. The walls and wallpaper were worn and torn. Our small balcony was filthy. Literally filthy. Two small chairs had pillows that looked like they sat outside at a cabin in the woods for a whole summer. Covered with dead bugs and spider webs. This room was very expensive. I mentioned it to the front desk. No mention by them of any type of reduction in the cost. They said they will "have it looked at." Not helpful for me when I stayed one "special" night. I would never stay there again . . .

Our room was hot and noisy. We couldn’t get the thermostat to cool the room all night- that’s never happened at the Amway before.

Everyone and everything was great.

The TV in our room did not work either.

What a beautiful hotel! It was a very quiet and relaxing stay in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. The pool and hot tub were a perfect enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend on your next trip. The only issue was we heard the cars and motorcycles on the road all night long due to it being in the center of tall buildings.

Beautiful property in center of city
-
Only stayed one night but enjoyed it thoroughly! The property is beautiful. The coffee at Fox Tail in the hotel was so yummy. Friendly staff!

Dinner at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck was excellent. The ambiance of the Lumber Barons bar was great. Rooms were huge with two beds and two bathrooms. About the only negative is that the two bathrooms are too small and both have bathtubs posing a fall hazard. Sinks are too wide for the toilet also. Otherwise a great place to stay.

No late checkout because of 3rd party booking.

We booked this hotel for the evening as we had a concert at Acrisure. The room was well appointed and clean. The location was perfect to walk to dinner and then to the concert. We had drinks and an appetizer in the hotel lobby prior to dinner and a late night drink in the Lumber Baron bar when we returned from the show. Both experiences were lovely. Had a quick lunch at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck before heading home. We live locally, but have not stayed here since our wedding night 26 years ago! We definitely left having decided we need to do this again!
